This dealer had about a dozen SVR's last week before dropping in deep discounts. https://www.jaguaroklahomacity.com/n..._filters=false

This one looks like a pretty good deal @ $38K off MSRP... https://www.jaguaroklahomacity.com/i...wj6k85hmk45072

I'm getting ridiculous lease quotes of 1500-1800/month. What dealers are not on the pipe and ready to deal?

Any deal on F Type R that is over $1000 (with tax, with 12K mi/yr) and with more than $0 AT SIGNING (not "zero down") is not a very good one.

For reference
$110K R MSRP Coupe of Convertible is little difference
- Zero "Drive off" is coming in between $950 to $970/month
- $3K down (at signing) is around $860-$880/month

NOTE: These are both with $49.50/month in NC State taxes embedded

There are dealers offering as low as $699 (before taxes) but they require $5K down so...

It seems like dealers try and place people in bad leases first, bad money factor or bad residual. Does the dealer benefit from this?

Yes, it's called profit and any business has the responsibility to make as much as possible. The only controlling factor is what the market is willing to pay. Many who are new to these details may end up paying more than necessary as they may not understand the details. The dealership is counting on the emotional factor to help drive their sales and the more emotion you show, the more they know they are going to profit.

Notice that the dealer's quotes often don't even show the MF or residual. Rather, they simply show you the basics and say "The bottom line is $$$/month. Will that work for you?" Most buyers don't even see the MF or residuals until they are sitting in front of the finance guy AFTER they have already agreed to buy the car for $$$/month and even when they do they don't actually care about the (minor in their eyes) financing costs because they are they to pick up their baby for the monthly amount they had agreed upon.

NDA every time you write you make me think of Steve Martin's character in THE JERK. When he is working at the weight guessing booth and discovers "OH ITS A PROFIT DEAL!"

You are as usual dead on!

Yeah I always ask for all the details. And they still try and give me bs even when they know I know what I'm talking about. They drive me nuts.

One question. When they calculate the residual, let's say it's 50%. Do they use the msrp or the final negotiated price. My guess is the negotiated price. So if msrp is 130k and the final price is 95k is the residual value 65k or 47,500?

LOL - Comic genius that man. Believe it or not I am finally down to the last few days of making a decision. My brother-in-law surprised us a couple of weeks ago when he brought his new SVR to a family dinner. I reached out to his dealer contact and they have been very upfront with all their details so the deal is going to happen Decision made & paperwork in process.

In keeping with the theme!

I think that they are doing some good deals... but they are going fast. I just purchased a New 2017 "R" Italian Racing Red. MSRP $110K SOLD $78K + taxes and tags of course.

"Navin Johnson, die you random Bast*****."

Damn, at these deals, i want to replace my DD with another F-type. Just have to figure out how to fit golf clubs in the back... or 4-5 bowling ***** at a time... and navigate a SE Michigan winter... and not (further) irritate wife.

The coupe should have ZERO problem even with a couple of three-ball rollers. You want a challenge...try going on tour with eighteen ***** spread across nine of the two-ball totes in a Miata. It CAN be done though...

Even golf clubs appear capable of fitting in there. Convertible might be a little more of a challenge without taking clubs out of the bag...

I can get two smaller stand bags in the trunk of my convertible, though all woods go in the passenger footwell. With just one bag, the woods fit in the trunk, outside of the bag.

I am leasing basically the same exact car with the Vision, Lighted Door sills & Extended Leather packages. The lease "selling price" is higher than this purchase price due to Jag pulling back purchase $'s to cover the subvented $s but I am happy with the monthly figure

I would love to see pics of a Miata unloading all that gear on tour! Can just imagine unloading it next to Walter Ray's RV in the parking lot....

I definitely can get my clubs in the F-Type vert, but yes, the driver gets pulled, and I dont carry a 3 wood, or it would get pulled too.

Well, since I didn't tour PBA (was a footnote in their history when they allowed women to enter regional events in 2004 as the first woman in the SW region), cannot speak to what he takes into the paddock.

I off-loaded in front of the center in Sterling Heights for the US Open during 2003 and again the following week at Terra Haute (I came home after that week because the pain from a broken hand was too much to overcome even with painkillers). During practice blocks, we could have as much equipment in the center as we wanted. Once competition started, we were limited to eight ***** in the paddock. But it did draw quite the looks as I was pulling everything out...one person compared it to the emptying of the clown car at a circus. They were amazed at just how much one could carefully pack into the Miata though...some of the totes were on the passenger floorboard (I traveled alone) but six or seven of the totes were indeed in the trunk.

So cool! And sorry about the gender error.

Sterling Heights? Sunnybrook? My uncle was the golf pro there for 53 years (suddenly closed aug 2016 and the entire property was sold to a developer).
