I love my AJ engine!
Metal coolant pipes are in, etc. But one thing I love about our engines is they are just so darn strong in general (if not overheated).
Yes we see stuff, but nothing like Porsche's bore scoring...and on their top engine....some have issues yet just a year or so ago: https://rennlist.com/forums/992-gt3-...ame-issue.html . I love how literally "strong" the F-type engine is.

Did my parts in two rounds since the rear one was not available for a long time... EuroAmp I think has a full kit. You can choose to do a real water pump at the same time....I did and did the belts due to a set of new pulleys. Rear came later. So, all of my coolant stuff is now metal. Did the spark plugs at the same time and the s/c coupler and fluid...saved on labor.
I have nothing to do with EuroAmp or Amazon. 10k miles without issues fwiw.

What I personally think is that Porsche have very deep pockets (much deeper than those of Jaguar for instance), and I believe well placed money can get a lot of these so called “auto journalists” to consistently say nice things…If you get my meaning…My common sense leads me to believe that. My opinion only at the end of the day. To be clear, there is no doubt that a lot of the nice things said is well deserved too.
Money in a company can do a lot to consolidate your position in the market place, and that advantage is not always just around design, engineering, etc…
Anyway, my 2 cents.
And yes, as someone who is quite new to the Jag world and the AJ engine in particular…Relative to anything that I’ve driven in my past, this setup is something else.
It’s a mind blowing amount of performance to someone like myself who really has had nothing besides more sensible family utilitarian vehicles in their life to this point, and some cheaper Japanese sports cars in my younger years.
I was too busy dealing with the realities of mortgages, a young family, and building wealth for the future to ever be able to consider “wasting” money on an expensive toy. So for someone like me an F-Type R is a bit of a mind blowing treat. Took a while to get one of these things, and I feel like I made the good choice choosing the F-Type R. I say this despite all the nonsense going on with Jaguar as a company these days…

A few say it can be done without removing the SC, by unbolting the SC and lifting/levering it up a little (how much is a little is never made clear), and then the one or two snout bolts on the underside of the snout can be accessed and removed.
Others (most) say it's still better/easier to remove the SC to access those lower snout bolts.
