Electric Jaguars Will Be Here By 2018

Well, there ya go. Time marches on. Wonder how the exhaust notes will sound then. Probably shouldn't have used an F-Type in that pic. LOL

Yep, when you pass a cop with your blaring Ftype exhaust- it will be as obvious as letting one rip in a boardroom meeting.

I'm excited about this. Tesla has proven that electric cars can be fun and accepted as luxury toys.

The fact that Jaguar is forming a Formula E team for the next season means that any electric production car Jaguar makes will have a direct connection to Jaguar's current racing efforts, not just it's past!

As soon as saw the title of this thread I knew that Lucas jokes would be quick to follow. Sure enough, the comments at end of the article are full of them.

+1. I think we're going to see more and more interesting electric offers over time.

I was fortunate enough to take off from the lights next to a Tesla about a week ago the thing just blew me away and I was trying to keep up, the speed and torque of the thing is just incredible. But the silence is erie and also kind of cool in its own way.

I would miss the glorious sound of my F though, it is the thing that never fails to bring a silly grin to my face, to me electric for a sports car is not right, not enough soul. I would be quite happy with a Tesla style XF or XJ as a family car DD though.

It's very fast from standstill, but past 60 it's not that fast. And past 100 most of the fun is gone...

We have loads of Tesla's in Norway. They are very competitive price wise, due to taxes, as there are no taxes on el-cars here. So a Tesla is priced about the same as an Audi A4. Even the "top of the line" Tesla (P85D or what it is called) is priced less than half of what you have to pay for an F-type R.

I have raced a couple of them with my R, and they smoke me from standstill. But I smoke them from 40 or above
