Incontrol no longer available for 2015-2017 modelss
I have a 2016, I wasn't able to renew the Incontrol on-line. When I called Jaguar USA, they told me they are no longer allowing renewals of Incontrol for 2015-2017 models, as the 2G network is becoming sparse. I believe when the 3g networks were phased out, the 2g networks were still available, and they were able to continue the service on the 2g network, until now.
That plus they haven't done a current nav update since 2020; they farmed out the nav to a company called HERE; and the only format for getting the update they're selling now is SD card. My 2017 only has a USB port.

I hope this help: (did this on my friend vehicle (XJ) having same era InControl Touch. (not Touch Plus)
You should be able to purchase map update from this link, download it and drop on USB pendrive: https://jaguar-mapupdate.naviextras.com/
Follow the instructions and download an InControl Touch Map installer for your computer.
Thank you for replying with this information, but that is a European site and I doubt that it would work here in the US. I see that a North American map is available, but if purchased, I would be governed by EU Terms and conditions for any issues. The cost comes to @ $153 USD with no guarantee that the update is a current one.2025/2026 for example. . plus there is the issue that the original poster, DavidMA, wrote about, having to do with the current generation of 2G versus where the US is now... 5G. I will continue watching this thread to see if any other US owners have success with the site you linked.

Youre welcome.
Digital maps are made by European company like your vehicle, so i am afraid there are no choice..
US maps are for US vehicles only. They don´t even install to EU vehicles. ("continental" system update is possible and seen some XJ:s succesfully converted from US to EU)
Yes. Its same here. 3G is long gone. 2G running only in far out areas as a safety network. 4G/5G are only available network.
If i have understand right you can connect your phone to InControl and use your phone data for connection? Not sure about this. Maybe some other member know?
How recently did you renew the Incontrol. I received the renewal email on December 25th, expiring January 25th. Went to renew it last week, I have no option to renew on the landing page. Same when I go via the app on the phone.
When I called Jaguar on Tuesday, they told me they were no longer accepting renewals for 2015-2017 models.
I'm in California and just renewed mine. The early F-TYPEs run on 2G which still a used band.
T-Mobile (the only carrier who was still providing 2G/GSM service in the US) shut down its 2G infrastructure last February although I guess it's possible there are still a handful of tiny pockets of service remaining. Where are you getting 2G service in California?
I seldom use InControl and only use the maps feature as a last resort inasmuch as Android Auto is more up-to-date without having to go thru the download/upload process. I have no intention of subscribing after the 5 year free period ends and I do so wish Jaguar had provided a remote start function on the key fob as most sane auto makers have.
I also have a 2020 XF and I am probably in the minority but I prefer the Jaguar Nav, over the Apple Carplay (the 2016 F-Type doesn't have Carplay). and did pay for the 3 year map subscription when the warranty ended.
One thing I've always liked about the built in Nav's is you are not relying on cell phone signal, which isn't much of a concern now, as it was years ago. However, the in car Nav came in extra handy last week when Verizon service was out, and I needed the Nav to guide me to the airport, Carplay would not have been helpful, as there was no cell service for a good part of the day.

I just checked again, no option to renew.
If I recall, I renewed mine late November early December.

Interesting. I don't see any 2G service in the greater LA area on the coverage maps other than possibly a tiny area near Fontana/San Bernardino. But if you're getting 2G service, perhaps the map is inaccurate.
