Does anyone know how much clearance there is to the wheel arch using the 17mm spacers, lowering springs and 295 tyres?

The reason I’m asking is because I’m in the UK and can get hold of 18mm spacers which I’d like to fit along with lowering springs and 295 tyres.

I was wondering if the extra 1mm would make the difference between rubbing or not rubbing on the arches at full compression?

I know it sounds a bit pedantic but it might make all the difference?!

That 1mm could make all the difference, but only an empirical test under all-out road conditions can answer that question. Taking static measurements can’t answer the question. You’ll need to get the suspension under dynamic load.

Ok, so now I’m thinking of just installing 18mm wheel spacers without lowering springs (with 295 OEM tyres) - do we think that these would rub the arches?

Has anyone installed 20mm spacers without lowering and with standard 295 tyres - and if so, any issues?

If it rubs with lowering springs, it will eventually rub with the OEM springs if you hit a sufficiently deep rut in the road.

The tyre is far too far away from the arch to rub.

FYI - I have 17mm Spacers and 305 rears on OEM springs.

Just gone and measured... The closest gap from tyre to arch is approx. 50 ~ 57mm depending on either Port or Starboard side.

If you hit a big enough pothole, the sidewall of the tire will grab a rear fender lip and wrinkle the fender. The OEM suspension has sufficient travel to compress by that 57mm.
