Interesting recent video shows a tuned F-Type R vs a Nissan GT-R in a few rolls from 50 and 60. Would've been nice to see a comparison from a dig but they only ran on a highway. For me after I sold my Corvette Z06 it came down to these two cars and I chose a 2018 R (couldn't be happier btw).

Jaguar: Velocity AP upper pulley + crank pulley + ECU tune. QuickSilver exhaust + intake
Nissan: FBO on E85 gas

I skipped all the bs at the beginning (go to 3:42 if my link doesn't do it for you):

From standstill the f type would see brake lights after about half a second. No chance against a faster car with e85 on top lol

True, but I liked that it didn't get *completely* destroyed on the highway vs the much faster car lol

Haha I guess completely is subjective, but yeah an fbo Ftype R vs a stock GTR would be a coin toss

And that's exactly why I went with the f type. I figured I could get unrivaled looks and if I wanted bolt-ons I could get ridiculous performance, too. This thread is me telling myself I made the right decision lol

Yeah the physical and audible beauty is hard to top anywhere sub 120k. The performance is excellent too at its price point, and for under 3k your damn near a 10 sec car.

In those respects, the only thing that really competes with the F-type R is the F-type v6 rwd. With 10 - 15k in mods and ingenuity, it may be possible to break 10s

I'm not sure that $3k would get you in the 10s but still I get your point.

Tune and both pulleys (about $2500, even less during black friday depending on company) will bring you between 11.3 - 11.1 depending on tires. Damn near 10s

I have this directly from VelocityAP: "The fastest ¼ mile we have done so far is 11.11 seconds on stock Pirellis, at our local airport (dirty runway, no prep etc.) This was with dual pulleys, downpipes & exhaust and our TCU tuning." That's probably closer to $6k.

Downpipes and exhaust don't add any significant power. Primarily value is audible satisfaction... additional benefit of lower temps (push hard for longer but not faster) and weight reduction

TCU tune will def help a bit with times. So... Shop on black friday and thats 3k lol.

Side note, there was someone on the forum who posted very low 11s without the TCU tune

I'm definitely interested, problem is I'm still under warranty for the better part of 2 years. So maybe I'll wait for next year's black friday lol

The GTR is making AT LEAST 100 WHP more than the F-Type.

I was wondering why so much gap... GTR Has a lot more power, about 640 WHP versus about 650 HP. Ok thanks
