Honestly, if it's anything like the render Autocar have done then it's a massive hard pass, but I will try and keep an open mind until the covers are off. As it stands, the spy shot has had the opposite effect on me and has put me off ever considering one (not that I was their target demographic anyway, so I doubt they'll lose any sleep!)
Looks like they did a great job showing as little as possible!
When I look at the very small rear side window and the clearly built up rear wind shield, I think the Jag may have proportions similar to the Aston Martin Rapide. I had a chance to see one in the wild and didn't care for it. Too big for the shape. I hope Jag (if indeed that are looking at that) could provide the 4 door without the visual weight of a full size car.

In this video Scotty is in rare form, letting us know exactly what he thinks of EVs. Jaguar should take a look at this video

It will be nice - it is a Jaguar.
They hid it really well - no way to tell and not worth the time taken on those images.
Other issues are all EV related. It will be fast and smooth and drive well. It won't be a "sports car" but it will have grace, pace, and space.
If it could be charged up in 5 minutes, charging infrastructure was equal to normal gas station infrastructure, and the battery could be replaced affordably (say 5-10% of car cost max...say 5k dollars....or something...exchangeable if you will perhaps.....it will be super. The real issues won't be the looks or the drive...it will be infrastructure and battery replacement cost anxiety, at least for me.
And it will be really expensive....lots of if's.
Here's hoping for motor and battery standards to make things simpler, cheaper, and more reliable. It will never happen, but one can dream.

Weird that Jaguar moves to a four door sedan when years ago many other brands dropped their sedans because they weren't selling. Nobody wants them anymore - they are buying SUV's instead. Granted, these are grossly generalized statements that some will undoubtedly nitpick, but it doesn't make them any less true.
Jaguars original plans for the new electric lineup was two SUVs and a four door GT. Those have changed. Now the lineup is one SUV, the four door GT and a coupe similar to the Bentley Continental. Details below.

Jaguar is not really a separate entity, but part of JLR. The Land Rover side of things has plenty of SUVs, so I don't see a Jaguar SUV as making sense unless they're relying on brand loyalty for customers' SUV needs. I'd think they'd focus on non-SUV offerings, but I'm not steering the Good Ship Jaguar. I'm not confident the rebranding has done anything to boost brand loyalty.
I'm sure a Jaguar EV GT sedan would be very nice, but wish instead they'd gone for a hybrid GT coupe. A shooting brake would be even better, at least in my opinion. It's not like I'm looking to replace my F-Type though.

When most people think of Jaguar, they think of beautiful, elegant cars that made them want to sit down inside and take it all in. The downside was never how these cars inspired, but instead, it was always quality issues [perceived or otherwise]. If I was CEO, I would go back to making gorgeous cars and put 1000% effort into making them among the best quality and reliability available...and I would pound this message home to the public over and over until everybody understood that Jaguar meant beauty, quality, AND reliability. And, I'd put an ***-kicking v8 in all of them that wakes up entire neighborhoods by proclaiming that some great things in this world are loud, so ****ing deal with it!

Tech has been the worst part of modern Jags, so a move to EV's is alarming. Tesla already has the EV performance, Lucid has performance AND luxury, both companies have at least a decade head start, chasing them is rather ill advised.
I have a feeling that BYD is going to be the OEM for most of the motivating parts.
Jag is rebranding themselves as a "Lifestyle" brand ... and I think that "lifestyle" is androgynous, confused and Ill equipped to handle life outside of their own very small group. My initial prediction is that they sell maybe 600 cars worldwide.

They were tried that in around 2016. I was getting Jaguar magazines after I bought my F-Type that were very lifestyle-oriented, with little Jaguar content (as I recall). They were glossy and expensive, and they did not last. I remember a few volumes before they stopped coming.
I see what you are saying, but those lifestyle magazines were sent to you AFTER you bought the car.
The new add is to attract the clientele they want to buy their car ... I just don't think that there are enough people who that ad speaks to with the kind of money JaGUaR is going to charge for this new endeavor to be profitable.
Time will tell, but I don't think it will affect our cars until they shut down the dealerships and lose all their service technicians ... and we could actually benefit from that.
