Jaguar f type air bag ecu crash data reset
I'm no authority on this issue, but during work to my vehicle at a Jaguar Factory Authorized Structural Aluminum repair facility, they had to flatbed the vehicle to the dealer to have the airbag system reset.
There are a few threads here related to that. My memory is that there are 3rd party companies that may or may not be able to do it. If you get a new/usd one, you have to figure out how to sync it with your VIN.
Airbag ecu's and related devices are supposedly one-time-use (meaning one crash use) in most cases and discussions I've seen on the subject.
Whether that is a decision based on revenue or a legitimate thing I do not know for certain.
The sensor that "feels" a crash could in fact be one-time-use.
Erasing crash data or reflashing to make an ECU usable again is not in the dealer service tools afaik. What I have also heard is that no legitimate collision shop clears crash data to renew an ecu. It's supposedly only the shady operations that would do it. This is just what I've heard in the business, but I am not directly involved in it.

Hi. Did you find a solution to erase the airbag RCM error?
