I can feel the double seam, but it’s not an issue for me.
My dislikes:
Front overhang is too long and low. I don’t know how you all that have lowered springs can live with it, but I scrape the center chin spoiler quite often and I always cringe. It’s scraped several times just driving on some mountain roads. I hate having to be extra careful when approaching/leaving any driveway or entrance with an elevation change. I hate the rough look after it’s taken a beating. I’m on my third one, luckily they’re cheap.
Paint is too soft. Rockers and fender/wheel well edges have taken a beating. I have PPF over them now.
Poor visibility. It’s a challenge to properly place the corners of the vehicle.
Likes: pretty much everything else. But by far the top two are the beautiful design and the exhaust note. To this day I’m always excited to see and drive the F-Type.
My Dislikes:
- No HUD
- Upon Start-up, Won't default to:
- Remain in Dynamic mode
- Remain in Audio mode, ie: last song/mode setting
- No sizing for run-flat tires
- Needs larger opening (black dot area) for my V1 radar detector, EZ tag, Subdivision gate tag, car wash tag
Prefer hard top vs soft top convertible
Dislikes:
1 Water based paint abrades easily (after 1000 miles I was shocked how much erosion had already occurred on the fender lips, rocker panels and rear fender. Ex-pel on all surfaces and some custom made front mud flaps flaps cured this).
2 Lack of legroom, not so noticeable around town but uncomfortable on long trips for this 6’2” driver even with the seat all the way back and down.
3 Waiting for the next thing to fail. Three unscheduled visits to dealer for warranty fixes over the last three years. My wife’s Jeep Wrangler JL has had none with 7000 more miles on the clock.
4. Way too heavy!
5. I grew up when all American cars had V8s. The noise this thing makes reminds me of our old neighbors Ford Galaxy 390 station wagon with the fake wood trim and rusted out mufflers.
Likes:
1. Effortless high speed GT.
2. Pretty good steady state cornering ability.
3. 770 meridian system sounds good.
4. Powerful brakes.
5. 8 speed auto, my first auto transmission in a performance car.
6. V8 has decent power, AWD system will still allow oversteer.
7. Cops seemingly ignore black cars.
8. Design, while dated, still looks good to me.

The H&Rs lower the rear more than the front, making the car more parallel to the ground. After 35k miles, I’m still using the original whiskers. Never scraped on any mountain road including TOTD, but I attribute that to the diminished body roll from the lowered center of gravity.
