I was actually thinking the opposite...while they don't look terrible, they didn't take the time to wire brush them. Should be the same color as base metal all the way around once brushed, if the heat and everything was right. Once it's cooled down after welding though, it's tough to get all the color out with the brush. But hey, I fit/weld stainless steel and other exotics for my job everyday.

Still really nice quality pieces you have there. Enjoy!

A. No one is going to see them once on the car.
B. In 1000 miles those pipes are gonna be discolored anyways for the heat.

Nobody sees the pipe welds I make up in the rack either (well, maybe the x-ray guy or the qc), but I still brush every one of my welds.

Not a huge deal, I just nit pick stuff like that because I do it. Just like a guy who does body work for a living can pinpoint the most minor detail the rest of us would never see.

But if no one can see it, aren't you just being less efficient and cost effective than you could be by not brushing the welds?

Yeah, I'd probably save 30 seconds of the companies time. But it's a craftsman's pride thing ya know?

Do you brush the welds while purging with Argon too?
