Looking to buy a used 2014 v8 s with 53k miles
As the title says, used 2014 v8 s with 53k miles. The car has already had 4 owners which is a bit off-putting and a minor accident in 2021 but has been to jaguar dealerships since. It won’t be available to test drive for about a week but I was able to see it. Seemed to be in good condition and didn’t notice any damage from the minor accident. I could tell it had the sticky buttons inside but that’s something that can be fixed.
I was just hoping for some opinions from the f type enthusiasts as I don’t love the idea of it already having 4 owners and a minor accident. I’ve looked through about as many forum threads I can but was hoping to see if anyone has high mileage v8s other than the small handful that have already posted on here.

Thanks
Im 5th owner on my '15 R Coupe (currently 34k miles), but everything is relative. My car was meticulously cared for, as evidenced from the intensive inspector i sent out to view it (out of state). All service records, no seams leaking, coolant pipes replaced, and liquids replaced more frequently than needed. Thus far, not a single issue, which is fine because I also got a 3rd party aftermarket warranty for an addl 5 years on it.
What Im trying to say is: this car may be good, it may be bad. There needs to be a lot more information gathered before a decision is made.

Thanks for your take on it. The carfax is relatively extensive at jaguar dealerships and at one point it was a CPO. It shows oil changes around every 12k miles, would've liked to see that a bit lower. Other than that there is really no extensive work that has been done according to carfax other than the 30k mile service being performed. The best option may be to take it to a third party to have it looked at.

How'd it get to 54k miles? Love seeing that the old owner was found =)
To the OP, you really need to ask gg2684 what issues the car had when he traded it in. That's worth gold, knowing before you buy - or not. And yes, the mileage thing would also be good to ask about.
Oh, something I'm not clear on. If a one-owner car is traded into a dealer, and they put it up for sale, does the CarFax say that it's had one owner, or two? Seems like it would be "two" because at that point, the dealer owns it. If that's true, then, it's not as bad as it seems buying a "four owner car" because it may actually be a two owner car, minus the dealership possession.

It is obvious to me that he is talking about his own car which is a 2016 R according to his sig.
That's what I assumed as well. Got a bit confused when I saw others mentioning he was the previous owner.
Also, when a dealer or broker buys a car, they are not registering it so they are not considered an owner from a title standpoint. Cars can go from an auction to numerous dealers but none register it, the last owner of record is whoever traded it or sold it.
