Default On the lookout for my f-type— curious about trim blackout options

Hey all,

been reading through some of the threads and watched a lot of SKRRT’s f-type videos.

we’re going shopping for a used F-Type starting this weekend— something 2014 to 2017, roadster.

I know there were factory blackout options, but many of the used options look to have chrome. My question is — what are other options? In particular I’m curious about around the grille and the side trim pieces.

The 3 things to look for are the black front grille surround, black side trim with "jaguar" written on it, and black window surround. These are all silver/chrome colored in the non- black pack.

I was concerned about the same thing. On the older ones it was hard to find the black pack, so the first thing I did was to have it vinyl wrapped and the rims powder coated. Quick, cheap, and I think it looks great now!

Piano black I believe for the front grille, window surrounds, and the vent trim. Whatever matches the existing glossy black on the front bumper area.

I got my chrome trim all wrapped black. They even did the side vents, and you can still see the 'Jaguar' text.

If the car comes in chrome, (Mine was all chrome) it is fairly easy to wrap as others have said. I used 3M Scotchprint 1080 Series Vinyl in gloss black, and it looks like factory blackout package.

Since I added the Project 7 grille, I had that painted and cleared gloss black, but prior to that I painted the surround after sanding, etching and priming it. It looked like factory as well.
