Does anyone in the group know if I can use 2021 f-Type trim pieces on my 2016. Asked the parts guy at JLR and he said he wasn’t sure. He wanted to order the ones off my vin (soft-touch) and I would like to replace with chrome or brushed aluminum looking ones

 

Which chrome pieces are you specifically talking about?

 

I want to replace the trim around the air vents and around the door handle.



the ones in my car (2016) are suffering from sticky coating. I went to JLR parts and the guy wasn’t sure if they were interchangeable.

 

The vent and it’s trim is actually one part. I’ve replaced mine because of the sticky issue and you have to do the whole insert. I don’t believe you can buy the pieces of the vent separately.

 

Mbourne is correct, the vent and the silver trim are 1 part. I replaced the same parts you are talking about. Mine were black and sticky, I replaced them with 2018 “silver” parts. My car is a 2015.
The vent and the door part are pretty straight forward to do. I haven’t even seen the inside of a 2021 so who knows if they will fit. Order from harper Jaguar parts online and they guys will do their best to help you and you can return the parts.
