Lost my J for Jaguar
On a very warm day a couple of weeks back the J came unstuck from the rear decal of my F type and must have fallen off whilst I was out. My local dealer is telling me that only the whole set can be ordered, has anyone done this and what’s the approximate price? Does anyone have a J going spare?
thanks!
thanks!
I had the J come loose on a real hot day once, I was surprised it never actually flew off. I wouldn't think the whole set would be too expensive. Check on e-bay, maybe you'll get lucky and find a J

Britcar in the U.K. has it for $75.20 plus shipping. You will be able to find knockoffs on E-Bay or AliExpress for much less.
Be cautious on the knockoffs. Many of them are slightly different.
Yes, thanks all. If it’s not hot, it’s raining, which isn’t great for the car either. Depending on what I am quoted here, I will purchase in the UK as I will be there in October. I tried the bay already, nothing doing at the moment:-(

I have seen many members on this forum debadge their car. I would think somebody could send you a " J ". The letters are just sitting in a drawer never to be used. Help a fellow member, that is what the forum is about. Good luck.
Sadly, no. I’m in Switzerland where the lettering/leaper is clearly made of platinum, given the price! Kind thought, though.
Is the cost of the letters more than international postage? In case someone from the US is willing to send you their J.
Use a good 3M double sided tape.
I was told about 300 plus fixing and that on top of winter wheel repair and new winter tires at just over 3k plus my annual service. Prices in CHF, which are quite close to USD. So far the car hasn’t cost me lots, it’s been under guarantee, but looks like that’s about to change.
I can attest that this commonly-available 3M tape holds through all kinds of weather, for many years! Don't know the thickness of tape you need...

That's what Jag used to stick it on in the first place. If done properly, it will hold. You need to get the really thin tape.
