Lost Voice Guidance
Our 2018 f-type R includes “8-inch Touch Pro System w/Navigation Pro”. From Dec 2018 purchase date until Aug 2019 software update, nav guidance had a voice option that worked fine (we dubbed the lovely British voice Elizabeth Hurley). Since the August update no voice (nav works fine otherwise). Tried all the fixes suggested online to no avail. Asked dealer to fix during annual maintenance visit this week but now they say “that feature was not available on the 2018 f-type”. They are unable to explain how it was working on our car prior to the Aug update.
Anyone know whether this is true?
This is a tiny issue in an otherwise magnificent car but is slightly annoying and we can’t help wondering whether it is really a training/information problem at the dealership.

Ok, tested my car today and Navigation voice is back along with the voice assistance button.
The technician informed me that when they initially did the update that it wasn't set on "English" for the voice and that's what caused the confusion.
I had it set on "English (UK)" and Feedback accent on "British English"

Thanks for the reply Nvmyjag. FWIW the dealership told us our version of Touch Pro is not eligible for the Apple CarPlay upgrade. We don’t care about that so much but would like to have voice guidance back. One of the many solutions I found online and tried had to do with matching the voice setting (English UK or US) with the language setting on keyboard layout. At the time the JLR service advisor also recommended locking the car and setting the alarm after changing the voice settings. Nothing solved the problem and we decided to let them fix it during our Dec annual maintenance. Only now is JLR telling us that voice guidance is not available on the 2018 f-type [specifically this year/model]. They cannot explain how we did have it for 8 months prior to the Aug sw update.

With the radio on, we can hear when the voice nav would have cut in and see its volume setting but alas, no voice is heard. Another question for JLR: why do we have voice nav settings available and instructions for using in the owner’s manual if the feature is not available on our model/year?

Update: the service advisor thought I meant voice recognition rather than guidance. They have applied another sw update and the problem is solved.
