Default low battery

on a two year old battery my car showed a low battery plz start , which i did drove it for an 1/2 hour and all was fine the next morning it was dead . jumped it and took to dealer, this was two days after my 32.000 mile service, they said one cell in my battery was dead. $350.00 (new battery)and i was on my way the next morning low battery came up once more, so i would guess the dead cell was not the problem . they had just finished a service two days prior any ideas of what may have caused this/ thanks in advance !!

This is super common. The dealer plugged something into your ODBII port and didn't exit it correctly. This leaves the car in a mode that will drain the battery in under a week. You have to disconnect the negative lead for about a minute to clear it.

FYI - Sacramento Jaguar did the exact same thing to mine. My battery was dead within 4 days. I followed the procedure and that battery lasted another 3 years.

I think you'll lose your trip computer values, and your windows will probably need resetting - the procedure should be listed in your handbook.

I think it's just clock and sometimes windows that need re-setting - on mine at least! Had to do it a few times. Be ready with the keys when you re-connect the earth lead- alarm may go off.

Ah, I forgot the clock - mine resets from the internet, or the phone signal, or GPS, or something - I've never had to set it manually.
