Default Low tire pressure warning

I have a 2014 FType S v8, and have just started seeing a low tyre pressure warning on my dash for the left rear tire.

I checked the tire and it's at 35 psi cold versus the recommended 36 psi cold. I've inflated it to 36, using an accurate gauge and a second (cheaper) one to verify.

After several drives, checking pressure each time, I'm still getting the warning. Does this mean the TPMS sender is likely at issue?

Thanks
Steve

Almost certainly a TPMS sensor.

Try overinflating then backing it back down. Others have found that can help.

I tried this. Inflated the tire to 40 psi and the warning message disappeared. I then reduced pressure to 37 psi and no warning message. This is great but what does it mean?

thanks

I don't know. My guess is that a few of them don't always read accurately and by increasing the pressure it registers that it's over the threshold and as you back it down it's still over so stays clear. I suspect it means the sensor isn't as responsive as it should be. I would imagine it still works to alert you if pressure drops back off - as it was doing that (incorrectly) before
