Default max miles on a custom ordered car?

Hello, what in your opinion is the max # of miles that should be on a custom ordered car? In general, if I were to buy any new car then I would expect it to have < 50 miles. However, if I'm having a custom car built at the factory specifically for me then my first thought is that it should not have > 5 miles. 5 miles is not a long driving distance but for a special order car that is being built specifically for me, assembly line to loading truck to dealer parking lot should be < 1 mile.

This is the first car that I'm ordering directly from the factory so I don't have any previous experience to compare it to. Does this expectation seem reasonable, too demanding or too loose?

Mine had 6 on it when I picked it up. Most from when the dealer took it to fill the gas tank

It will depend on lots of things. Sometimes you have to put more on it if the software did not activate during the PDI at the dealership/ If they find a vibration or something that needs addressed it might get driven multiple times.

Be tolerant of a few miles. Cars do not always come off the assembly line perfect. There may need to be some issues addressed and this can rack up a few miles of evaluation and testing.

Jag and many other manufacturers test drive nearly each car when it rolls of the line for noise vibration testing as well as general system checks. The dealer may also drive the car before final validation for delivery. So up to 50 miles still seems realistic.

I cannot speak to Jaguar, but I know that none of my spec'ed FoMoCo offerings have been delivered with more than 20 miles. Most ranged from 7 to 15 miles on the clock when I took delivery...

The last car I bought only had 12 miles on it and I did not order it directly from the factory. 25 miles seems a bit high. I'm guessing that it may have been taken for a joyride. I think 20 miles is reasonable but if > 20 miles then I would ask why.

I had a simple Peugeot 309 many years ago bought new, it came with 7 miles on the clock.

I would've thought that anything under double digits would be preferred and generally the norm, anything up to 20 probably acceptable at the absolute max.

Anything over and I'd probably question as to why?

Congrats on the new ride and good luck
