Returned from 3 weeks abroad to find my battery dead.
I had cunningly placed my jumper cables in the trunk, but after checking the manual and doing some preliminary Googling I've realized that there may not be a way to open the trunk manually if the car battery is not working (ie there seems to be only an electronic release).

I have the remote keyless entry package. Does anyone know otherwise?

Ie is there a manual way of opening the trunk if the battery is dead?

 

Not sure on yours but my XK has a key inside the remote for just this type of incident.

There is then a key hole behind the rear number plate and also behind a cover on the passenger door handle.

If you leave your car for that kind of period then ensure all auto functions are switched off, the car is properly locked and hook it up to a battery tender.

There is indeed a key which opens the door, however the trunk release on the couple is electronic (both the one on the trunk lid and the one inside the drivers side interior).

I was unable to find an external keyhole for the trunk release, but I hadn't thought to look behind the license plate. I looked under the trunk lip where the S-Type and I think the XK have their release keyholes, but the F-type doesn't have one in that position.

Managed to get the car started via jumping, but I think it'd be helpful to know if there's a solution here, otherwise folks may need to keep jumper cables in the cabin rather than the trunk to avoid the idiot-test that I failed tonight....

Does anyone know if the battery conditioner that Jaguar sells as an accessory has to be installed in the trunk by the dealer? Or do you just manually connect it when needed? I thought I saw a post some time ago about a dealer installation.

 

Do it yourself. Mine is permanently fixed as per the instructions in the handbook.

You can also hook it up as and when required.

I assume the pigtail to plug in the permanently mounted battery conditioner is also inside the trunk. Correct? If so, I suppose the idea is to plug it in before leaving it idle for extended periods to avoid the OP's situation.
