Default Mina Gallery intake - dry sock recommended?

Posted this question on another Mina thread but it looks like it got buried so I'm trying again.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Mina Gallery intake kit.
Given that I live in a rainy city, should I get filter covers?

Mina said I shouldn't worry about it, nevertheless I'd like to know if there's a consensus on the forum.
I know they're cheap, but there's no point ordering something if I don't need it.

Thanks

Metal parts on my 1 year old Mina supplied filters were rusty, so it’s definitely seeing some moisture, but haven’t had any issue driving in the wet, including downpours and snows, though speed is adjusted accordingly.

I also removed the pipes most people leave alone after changing intake, so there are 2 additional holes water can potentially enter, thought not likely since they are perpendicular to the air flow.

I live in AZ with minimal rain and still felt it was a smart move to install to be safe.

Thanks for the reply.

Which prefilter did you get?

I got the socks as well. Every time I drive in the rain I'm relieved that I did it. They don't cost much but they will ease your mind on those occasional stormy rides.

Thanks.
Socks it is. I don't make a habit of driving my car in the rain, but it's easy enough to get caught out, especially around here.

Which socks did you get?
I'm looking on the AEM site but I'm not sure which model would best fit over the Mina filters.

I wasn't sure how good the filters were with the Mina and wasn't sure what size sock to fit, so I bought new Injen 3.5 filters and used the appropriate socks for that filter. That filter looked about identical to the ones with the Mina and would imagine the socks would work. It was Filterwears for Injen Filter X-1021, x-1026.

Sorry to keep spamming everyone on this topic, but the last thing I want is to end up with a set of prefilters that don't fit the Mina filters.

This is what Mina have told me with regards to the filter dimensions:

The filter element is 5.5" tall and 6" wide. Total length including the filter neck is 7". The neck OD is 3.25".
However, I'm still somewhat confused as to how that squares up with the prefilter dimensions listed on the AEM site:

Can anyone tell me which (if any) of these will fit onto the Mina filters?

If none, I would greatly appreciate a link to a make/model that would.

Problem solved (for anyone who may have the same question in the future) - it's the AEM 1-4007.

Thanks @Guardian for the help!
