Only advantage I could get with Mina intake is S/C whine..then,

You think the performance will be better with OEM filter and it in recognizable?

I haven’t had the car out to get a sense of how performance might have been affected, but I don’t expect any noticeable improvement. The primary advantages of the Mina intake are the aesthetics (bright shiny metal tubes versus black ugly plastic ducts) and the SC whine.

That’s all at half throttle or less with relatively low shift points. Anything more than that, the exhaust note overwhelms all other sounds including nuclear blasts. BTW, that’s with the exhaust valves closed.

I enjoyed the video distortion in the 2nd one, maybe from the phone’s attempt at vibration reduction? Looks like you’re about to punch a hole in space-time. Either that or the infinite-improbability drive is getting itchy.

You've got a lot more popping than I do. Are you running one of the "extra pop" tunes? That exhaust note sounds considerably deeper than stock With the valves open is any of the SC whine still noticeable, or is it just lost in the thunderstorm of glorious sound?

Can’t remember if I have an extra pop tune. It’s been about 4years since it was done.
Exhaust note is due to the VAP quad Valvetronic muffler. With the valves open there is still a hint of SC whine as long as you keep it under 4000 rpm with less than half throttle. Otherwise the hammers of hell resound.

Anybody have any thoughts on TIG welding the first joint of the kit? Would there be enough flex with the second joint still sleeved to not worry about it cracking? I think it would look good, but curious on thoughts of those who have it installed already.

I don’t think there is enough room to squeeze that entire upper tube into place as a single unit. There’s a lot of twisting needed to get those 4 tubes into place and aligned properly.

Now if only Mina Gallery would actually ship my order... 16 days later and just radio silence.

Anyone else wait an age to get the kit shipped?

Yep, maybe poke them for a tracking number? I don't think the website ever updated with a tracking number.

Yes...Mine took forever too. I finally had to call them to see why it was not shipped...And eventually got my order. Looks like a very small shop (repair shop) with an adjacent building that must be their "warehouse".

May want to try calling them...(Call us Toll Free at: 1-866-310-5247 (toll free within the US)...International callers: 1-818-342-0273 )

DC

install is a bit of a PITA because of how tight the areas are to get the couplers on. Once you get everything removed and loosely installed. My best tip is to tighten each side down first and work your way to the center.

Do you guys stay with the oem air filter or an aftermarket one?

I just ordered some VAP goodies and this mina gallery kit, might as well replace the filter while on it.

I was thinking BMC or K&N, are they all the same across different model year for the R?
