I just ordered some VAP goodies and this mina gallery kit, might as well replace the filter while on it.

I was thinking BMC or K&N, are they all the same across different model year for the R?
Spend the money & buy the Eventuri intake. You will love it.

Mina now do a lower intake kit as well which replaces the OEM filters (and filter boxes) with cone filters, see here: https://www.minagallery.com/jaguar-f...be-filter-kit/
It may not be too late to change your order to the full upper + lower kit.

I did order the full kit, didn't realize it replaced the oem filter and box, thanks!

Is that due to the look since it is carbon fiber or is there a performance difference?

No difference in performance. You are paying for a fancy Carbon Fiber design that you cannot see. It is inside the bumper cover.

Way overpriced, for no benefit IMO. The filter design is nice also, but not worth the crazy price for no real benefit.

That is what I figured. I am not the biggest fan of CF to begin with. I don't dislike it but not worth the cost to me if that is the only "benefit". On my last Porsche I bought a Fabspeed intake which was priced around the same and in CF. Only reason I bought that was there was not really any other options on that 997 at the time.

Yep...Similar issue on my 997 Turbo. Ended up just painting the Y pipe and filter cover Basalt Black Metallic to match the car and installing a higher flow filter. It is very hard to actually keep the air cool in that configuration, and the OEM set-up does it best! Also added DO88 Inlet pipes and larger silicone boost pipes and GT2RS Intercoolers with a water mister system I made, like the new 991/992 GT3RS...

Just ordered one cpl set from Mina.
I do not expect any performance increase but just additional whine noise
Look forward!

You'll get that in spades with the complete set.

thanks! So far just VAP crank pulley, tune, Mina gallery lower intake, modified OEM mufflers, x-pipe, 15 mm spacers, and R1 concepts brake rotors/pads. Next mod will be eibach lowering springs.

Maintenance and repairs include spark plugs, transmission fluid change, rear diff fluid change, injectors, and coolant expansion tank.

I’m uploading a video today on spark plugs DIY since there is no video on it yet.

Also have one on springs on this forum when you do those, if helpful.

It's been already 1 week since I placed and paid for my order (11th of Dec) and despite sending question regarding estimated readiness for shipment I have not received any reply.
Question to those of you who purchased their product(s) - how are their logistics working and what is your experience with their lead times.
Thanks

I ordered during the week of Black Friday and they shipped it a week later. They reply to emails in about two or three business days.

Be forewarned on those Eibachs. A number of folks have reported inconsistent results with those. H&R and VAP results are more likely to be in line with expectation. And if not, in the case of VAP, you will get the personal attention to have it resolved.
EDIT: Nevermind on the Eibach warning. I was thinking of the KWs.

Agree with Unhingd here...And I would be one of those Eibach people that did have issues I installed a set on my R AWD and the front actually lifted about 1/2"! They were no help either and had no clue about why, or what parts they had that actually fit...Switched to VAP...Work great. Just FYI.
