Default Moving on to something different

Well it’s been a short 10 months of ownership, but I have moved on to a Chevy. I know that sounds crazy, but today I purchased a 2017 Camaro ZL1. The F-Type needed tires, brakes (pretty soon) and 32k mike service. I traded it in at 31700 miles, just before the indicator came on. I’ll admit that the interior is not nearly as classy as the F-Type, but the electronics in the Camaro are light years ahead of the Jaguar and the power, is just indescribable. The 10 speed gearbox is lightning fast and smooth as butter. I’ll miss everyone here, but it was time to move on to something a bit more practical space and storage wise.

ZL1 is an incredible performer, and at a bargain price too. Enjoy.

you're losing a ton of exclusiveness but to each his own.

The F is not an adaptive machine. You have to adapt to it not the other way around. I can see moving on.

Well yes with that size supercharged V8 pushing out 650HP I would kind of expect the power adjective you used. But apart from Apple Carplay honestly does nothing for me. It looks the same as many other muscle cars. I guess I'm just not the target demographic. But each to their own and respect for deciding what feels better for you.

Practicality and storage were way off my list when Jaguar shopping - I have an LR3 for that ;-)

Beautiful car... congrats!

You may not be able to answer this yet, but how well does it put the power down? Do you get a lot of wheelspin?

I am still in the break-in period, so I am trying not to really get into it yet. Nevertheless, when I test drove it, I did a quick sprint to triple digit speeds, and I had zero wheel spin and did not notice the traction systems intervening. I was not putting it to the floor right off the line, but just rolling into it. It puts power down (in my humble opinion) way better than the F Type did. Today I was driving on the highway and needed to pass someone; I put the pedal down about the same amount I would have in the F-Type and it scared me how fast it downshifted and rocketed down the road. The passing ability of the ZL1 is on another level. I admit, the sexy lines of the F-Type will be missed and the ZL1 cannot compare to the F-Type exhaust note and those fun, fun, fun, pops and crackles.

It is my daily driver. I do not think I could handle the 1LE suspension on a daily basis. The ZL1 in track mode is firmer than the F-Type, but in tour mode, its much softer. I was looking for a car that would be a bit more forgiving than the F-Type on a daily basis; thus, the 1LE wasn't an option.

The F-Type is an amazing car but if performance (especially on track) is your top priority there are a lot better options for the money. For me, the F-Type is the perfect blend of luxury, sport, style and "theatre."

To each it's own and I respect your decision, but isnt going from Jag to a Chevy a step down regardless of the extra horse power and all? I do however understand if tracking is your thing but there's a reason they sell these cars with so much power for so cheap.

A friend of mine has the identical car and looks envious every time he sees my car and I only have the V6s.

Again no disrespect intended, enjoy the ride ...

Well for those needing a back seat and perhaps some additional trunk space, I get it. Where else can you get insane performance, 4 seater practicality for that price? My biggest problem is the car has such limited visibility - and this coming from a F-type owner.

Well this is indeed an interesting switch, the reviews speak very good for the performance, consumption and overall mechanical quality of the Camaros 2SS and much more for the ZL1. Congratulations. You went also some years younger in age apparently :-)

Feeling like acting in the Transformers series and at same time enjoying the grip, ride and so many options must be something! Have fun and good luck!

To me, Camaro brand is synonymous with white trash. Start growing a mullet.
