Some of us can remember a time when vacuum tube sets were mounted right into the dashboard.

Some of us are old enough to have worked on things with vacuum tubes.

The Miracle of a $150 (or Less) Tube Amplifier - WSJ
I know what a valve (AKA vacuum tube) amplifier is, my sarcasm indicator obviously isn't shining brightly enough...

For some of us, you have to spell it out: thermionic valve.

I am pleasantly surprised to find out that turning on the windshield wiper spray with the top down does not result in the vehicle occupants getting a fateful of washer fluid.

Default I cannot lift wiper arms from windshield

How are the wiper arms meant to lift up? I can move them about 2 inches, then they clearly are NOT meant to come up any further...

Anyone know?

They don't seem to be designed to go any higher even when you open the hood (bonnet). There is a spring on the underside of the hinge but I've not yet messed with unhooking it.

Well, with some more searching I found this thread:

How do I change the wiper blades

I suspect that the F Type shares a design with the S Type. So blade replacement needs octopus arms!

BTW - What does IRR in your sig mean?

I found that you can bring up the TPMS display in the menu and the display will remain active and give continuous updates until you shut off the car.

Why does this matter? I plan to bring the car to the track (HPDE) and this will be helpful for monitoring tire pressures at all 4 corners before and after each session.

I am very qurious to how you manage to do that? I can only get a readout when the car is stationary, engine stopped and ignition on.

My car is a US market 2016. Could be some differences in the software? I was able to drive around normally while the display remained active and could see the pressures increase as the tires warmed up.

That might be the reason.

A couple more things:

1. The rear fender lip is pretty ugly cheap black plastic. Sorry in advance for bringing this up because now that you know, you'll notice it and it may bug you :-)
Fortunately, the part is very easily removed if you want to wrap it. 3M makes a series of good metallic wraps that blend with different F-Type paints, or alternatively it's an interesting detail to do in carbon fiber, for CF junkies.
I just did mine in gloss black.

2. Jaguar is very proud of its British heritage. The driver's console uses colors from the UK flag: it's a nice reminder every time you start the car up that you're driving a British motorcar.

I think you could name about 100 countries that use red, white and blue as their flag colors. I can't think of one off the top of my head but I'm sure their are many.

Yes, but if you have studied Ian Callum you will understand that his approach to design is not about choosing random colors or random flags, but rather about intent and meaning.

This was an intentional departure from classic Jaguar colors.

I wish they had those ugly fender whiskers for the front wheel wells too. It would save a lot of rash that's occurring on the rocker panel wrap.
