Default Nav map gone

Been working on the car for a few months and finally put it back on the road yesterday after getting the new seats straightened out. Immediately noticed my nav map isn't loading. Navigation works, I can still enter destinations and use guidance, but there's just a black screen where the map should be. Anyone ever experienced this?

Since the screen seems to be working, you probably need to have the system reflashed. I don't recall there being a unique connector for the maps input, although If your work has gotten into the dash, that's something to check/confirm.

(Note: it would help if you showed your year and system version to differentiate whether you have the original version, ICT, ICTP, or Pivi-Pro.)

If you are able to I would try downloading a new map to a USB stick and installing it. It might save you a trip to the dealer.

Thanks for the responses. The vehicle is a 2017....no work in the dash, changed springs, diff, and seats since I last had a map.

If your car was sitting for an extended period of time without the battery being charged you may just have a low battery.

Either drive for an hour or so or fully charge the battery with a charger and see if that helps.

Is installing a new map pretty straightforward? Can you tell me the process?

Thanks!

The battery was disconnected for a long period of time but charged before reconnecting...

There are many threads on this forum about updating maps. If you search for "map update" you will find them. Below is one that should help.
