Was driving home today with NAV system on this afternoon. Was working fine and while I wasn't paying attention the map and car location marker portion of the display disappeared. Every other item on the NAV screen displays properly and all of the menus work (audio, climate etc.). The voice part of the system works fine and the display between the speedo and tach works too for upcoming turns although the box on the NAV screen that should display the upcoming turn is also blank inside. The display also properly shows the current road. Any ideas what the problem is or what is causing it to do this?

 

First suggestion , as usual, is to reboot everything with a 15 second battery disconnect.

 

About a half hour ago had to go on an errand. When the system rebooted after sitting a while it was normal. Still would like to know what caused it though. Thanks for the suggestion but a battery disconnect sometimes creates the need to reset everything. If it happens again that is the next thing I will try. Thanks for the reply.

 

Had the same exact issue 3 weeks ago. Pulled over. Restarted the car and it worked again. Did you get a dark grey middle screen with the usual upper meny (Jaguar etc)?

 

Yes got everything but the map and car location arrow. Mine came back after I let the car sit for about an hour and restarted it. Shutting the car off and restarting didn't work because the NAV system doesn't completely shut down unless the car has been off for a while.

 

What triggered the issue on mine was my wife entering a new address while I put the car in reverse (and the camera came on), upon returning to NAV I had the exact same issue. so I drove a few hundred feet, pulled over. Pressed Start Stop. waited for the screen to turn off. Started the car again and the Navi was working again. It is certainly a SW bug that perhaps has more than one trigger. Also, anyone using the Incontrol remote, the journey page is completely messed up with odd monthly folders and some in 2019 now...

 

Mine is working normally, but I haven't updated to the latest iOS.

 

My F-Type is a time machine
