Default Need advise & help re; Jaguar rebate

Hi guys,
Im a member of Jaguar Car Club, and been in good standing for more than 6 months. I have a 2017 F Type R Coupe.
I contacted Jaguar North America today. I wanted to make inquiry about the rebate process.
The female representation stated to me there is no rebate and she had no idea what I was talking about.
My friends, who do I need to contact to asking about the car rebate. Thank you for your reply.

you have to apply the discount at the time of purchase. you cant try to get this after the purchase transaction is complete.

You're wrong. It's not like a mail in rebate

I was confused by the OP. I thought you wanted to take advantage of the money on another Jag

Yeah, this isn't a mail-in rebate!

Ubad2 in fact the discount was/is $2500.00 for the 16/17 F-Type. It is not a rebate it is a discount at time of sale for Jaguar Clubs of North America members with at least 6 months membership. No check will be mailed it is a simple direct discount at point of sale. The link for the offer was posted prior.

I believe George is with JCNA, so I'd trust what he says.

I am a member of the Jaguar Auto Club, for approx 8 months. I didn't know to pose the rebate scenario to my sales rep.

So ... Bottom line, I got screwed of 2500.00.
I have no recourse ??
Thanks guys

Ubad2 I am not sure how you were "screwed out" of the $2500 discount by anyone. JCNA is careful about keeping the clubs and members updated on offerings. As you can tell by the link JLR has taken the lead in establishing a stand alone program to facilitate the discounts to their preferred partners. Each month the flies are updated so that the status of members is recognized for this. Perhaps your dealer could have asked if you were a club member but had you simply walked in with your PIN it would have been applied. There was a period a year or so ago when were were provided sales bulletins which we tried to get out as soon as possible but the current system is constant. For example the LR and RR offerings are fairly new. I hate you could not take advantage of the program but I honestly do not know of any examples of post sale application of the discount. You still have a great car and when it is time to purchase again the program will still be active. So far these extended discounts have been going on for 3 years or so but prior to that for years JCNA members rec. a $1000 discount. Best of luck!

UBAD2, when did you get the car? If the dealer hasn't registered the sale with JNA yet, there is still hope.

I agree, you weren't screwed, and I lost the same thing. I was in the hospital, and frankly distracted. I would have and could have taken advantage if I was up to 100% like I am now.

As was stated, you have a great car, $2500 is $2500, but in the big scheme of things although I could think of things to do with this money, I could think of an entire notebook of things to do with my F-Type.....

Suck it up and move on before you need to pay for this i multiples in stress ridden hospital bills :-)!!!

Good Luck and enjoy the car.

I agree he wasn't "screwed" out of the discount as I am sure the dealer didn't purposefully try to withhold a discount.

I do feel however that dealers are supposed to bring "value" to the car buying process, and if discounts are available I think it is reasonable that the dealer should ask if a buyer is a member of the car club (or ask questions to see if they qualify for any active discount campaigns) so that the discount could be applied - therefore adding "value" to the sales experience and perhaps adding some justification to what is essentially an outdated sales model - car dealers versus direct sales.

Perhaps you are right and I know that a lot of the dealers have a very strong relationship with JCNA--others--well. All JCNA can really do is make sure the information is available to the clubs and members and it is. I do know that armed with the knowledge there has not been one discount denied but I will not go so far as saying some "efforts" were made to obtain it. All the dealer has to do is call the sales ops at JLR for help or questions.

Thank you all, for your responses. Yes, I'm at fault for not knowing about the rebate until after I got the car. The old saying; YOU SNOOZE ... YOU LOSE.

At least the dealer didn't quote a price and then when you're ready to buy inform you that they had applied $2500 worth of rebates that you don't actually qualify for. Sorry you missed out, but it could be worse.

Being an original Jersey City boy from the neighborhood, this saying hit home! Well put, unfortunate, but life goes on.
