I have a bad wheel bearing on the front of my 98' XJR. I know that the front wheel bearings are considerably smaller than any 99' - 03' XJ8/XJR. I have access to both front knuckles off of a 00' XJ8 that's already loaded with the wheel bearings and hubs. What I want to know is that will it mess with my alignment geometry if I put the later XJ8 knuckles on my early XJR?

98' really was an experimental year wasn't it?

I am completely capable of installing new wheel bearings in the current front knuckles but, the idea of having the larger wheel bearings are because I plan on doing long distance trips with it and I don't want to contend with a possible issue along the way. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, I just want to make this car as durable as possible and I have resources readily available to me.

A long story short is that this car practically fell in my lap and I plan on keeping it so it it's not like I went looking for an odd ball year XJR or else I would've gotten the 99'+.

Many people have installed the 80mm bearing hubs instead of the 76mm bearing hubs.
There shouldn't be any real differences but you might want to have the front suspension checked/aligned.
