New F Type with 1k miles brakes squealing
I purchased the car Saturday morning and when I test drove it I didn't notice any noise because it was just a quick drive. But now when I push the brakes they make that squeaking noise. The car is a 2018 R with 1k miles on it. It was a demo. Is this normal and will it stop over time? Can I take it back to the dealer and have them look at it without charging me anything?
You don't say what country you're from, but regardless I would think you have some form of warranty. In USA, yes even if you didn't buy it from a jag dealer unless they find some type of abuse. What warranty came with the car and where did you buy it.
If if you bought it from the back of a tractor trailer, not likely

.Should be no issue. USA warranty is 5years, 60k miles from in service date. You should find out , if you don't know what date your warranty started. Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum.
Squeaky brakes in my books are good quality brake pads, with larger metal composition, which will take up more abuse.
I love squeaky brakes, inspires confidence in braking performance. My brakes squeak a bit, now depends how noisy are your brakes.

HaHa
Like @Brava, I don't mind a low-speed squeak. I tell my wife "that's how you know they are still working"
That said, the factory brakes in our Jag don't squeak at all. Perhaps your pads are glazed from its Demo time? For sure, bring it in to the dealer.

Squeeling is most often caused by light frequent brake application which causes glazing(polishing) of the pads and rotors. This will usually go away when a different driver with better braking habits drives the car. This can be changed with better braking habits. To remove glazing what i do when this is a complaint is empty road, drive in reverse fast which in reverse is about 10-15mph and hit the brakes repeatadly as if i animal ran out in front of you. Does this usually for me 4to5 times or until you start locking up the wheels.
Years ago when i was married my wifes bmw brakes squeeled like crazy. She brakes lightly and frequently and i know this because i have followed her to work before i exit on the freeway. I counted 30 times her brake lights came on to my 3. I leave room and take my foot off the gas and let the car slow covering the pedal. And when i need to brake i brake but see no reason to constantly touch the brake pedal like it dissapeared or something. Now the reason i know its driver brakeing habits is because she drove my jaguar when i was out of town for a wek. She picked me up at the airport and the entire drive home my brakes squeeled until i got the pads cleaned of glazing. They never squeel for me. So when people talk about squeeling i recount this story as its the same car, same brakes. 1 driver no swueel another they squeeled like crazy. The only differnce is the drivers not the car....

I do have the factory warranty, he said it covers bumper to bumper. I didn't know it covers brakes as well. Thanks for the info!
I should be good then, thanks. They weren't squealing as much today. I think it might be from the car sitting on the lot for a while.
