New F-Type R owner
Hello everyone,
Just picked up a F-Type R (rwd) and wanted to say whatsup to the fellow F-Type owners.
I did have one question. What winter tires do you guys recommend? Car came with 20inch wheels mounted on summer tires. Wheels that came with the car are

I will prolly upgrade the wheels in summer. Plan is to put the stock ones on the winter tires.
Thanks!

Congratulations and welcome! Assume you have a 2015? Coupe or vert? Post some photos. Also it helps to put your basic car info in your signature line so others can more easily respond to our questions and posts. There are a number of threads on winter tire issue. I did the same when I owned my XF and put winters on stock tires. I ran Nokians. Great snow tire. Posted for sale in forum classifieds. Some have decided to drop down to 19s. Search winter tires and threads should come up.
A lot of positive comments about the Conti DWS Extreme Contact Tire. However, they pair best with 19" wheels. (The additional sidewall flex on the 19"s also helps). You might consider getting a set of 19" takeoffs for dedicated winter driving. Then you don't have the seasonal mounting and balancing issue.

Problem is that i dont see a lot of options for winter tires in the size needed for the car, tire rack haas the pirelli winter sottozero 3 in 255/35/20 and 295/30/20 for $1500 fml.

Maybe i missed it. " />I have looked on the forums briefly and didnt find too many posts that talked about 20" winter tires.
Maybe i missed it.
Welcome and congrats on the car; she's a beauty! .....sorry, can't help with the winter tire thing, my F type spends it's winters in a heated garage waiting for spring.
Cheers,

I am moving over from a C63 Amg and i used it all year. Just had a Winter set and a Summer set. I was hoping to do the same with this car.
This might be a stupid question but i do need help from any wheel expert out there. I was thinking of going with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 tires to use in winter and maybe even in summer but they dont have the exact size.
They have 255/35/20 or 265/35/20 for the front (i believe both these should fit the front no problem right?)
The rear is where the issue is
The current rear tires are 295/30/20
but Continental Extreme contact DWS 06 only have the 295/40/20 option or the 315/35/20 option.
So will either of those fit the car? Once i find the tires then i need to figure out what wheels to get. Didnt know the market for Jaguar wheels is so limited. That bolt pattern is making my life difficult lol.

Yeah i saw that but i just was kinda wanting to stay at the same size or a little bigger on the rear. Unless i have no other option
Yeah a 295 or 305 would prob be nicer but, if you are using as a winter setup and drive in bad weather/snow then a slightly narrower tire might be better?
Not of a fan of the Rotor wheels either?!? I hear ya!
Save yourself the trouble, and continue with 2 separate summer/winter setups like you did for the Merc.
Purchase a relatively inexpensive TR winter setup now (use the SVR as the model for seeing your options on TR). Sell your Rotors over the winter and then use that money to purchase a wheel setup you really like for the spring.
Or you may find some take off OE wheel options here (like others mentioned), which is what I did:

Congrats roelly!
The 3 millimeter smaller sidewall going from 295 to 285 isn't going to matter.
I'd recommend sticking with the 255 on the front.
As others have said, and I think you did as well, I'd make those Rotor wheels the Winter set, and get what you really like for summer. Mounting and remounting tires is a hassle.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Still doing my research....
Here's another question, If i pick a 20x11 Wheel, will a 295/40/20 or a 315/35/20 tire fit on that wheel? and will that fit in the rear of the car?

2. Depends on combination wheel offset and tire size.
I know this is what Jaguar recommends
Number of Bolts: 5
Rim Material:Alloy
Bolt Pattern:5x108
Rim Width: 9 FRONT / 10.5 REAR
Hub Bore:63.4
Rim Diameter:20
Rim Structure:One Piece
Offset:55 FRONT / 38 REAR
I just noticed with the 40 and 35 aspect ratios, you want to significantly bump up the sidewall dimensions. Why?
Well i dont want to, just asking cause Continental DWS dont come in the size required for our car.

I will most likely need to do the same.
