New JLR Logo Revealed
I dont think they will use the logo on the Jags, they will stay Jaguar. Not likely to be a buyer of an electric car in the short to medium term, but I am looking forward to seeing what they put out.
I wish them all the best. All part of working towards remaking the corporate entity (well Tata sub-entity) for a new way forward. Will it work, I'm not sure, but I hope so. I think it may imply some greater integration across the brands...necessary to stay viable for such a relatively small auto firm. Also, the integrated corporate packaging may make it more attractive as a potential acquisition.

I like it.
They are being smart to move things to quarters - three LR sub-brands are being pushed up to full brands: RR, Disco, and Def. Jag is the fourth and is the luxury car/sports car niche...I am not a fan of sports car suv's but the market is there for whatever reason. I consider the current Defender a luxury car....the RR is uber luxury to me.
Toyota is not going whole hog into EV's so I think JLR should allow perhaps a few vehicles to be ready for efuels, synthetics, etc., like Porsche will have in hand. The rumors (and pictures...) of a mid engine hybrid F type with some sort of next gen tech ICE engine with hydrogen or other stuff that could have challenged the GT3 would have been a good move...120-180k price, available, and beautiful....halo car. I am not running JLR but if I did, I'd do that.... But to push up those three LR sub-brands into brands makes sense.
Anyway, the biggest error JLR have made is to not do hybrid and/or hybrid performance. The US grid is not there yet for pure EV's....there are places you can go and get trapped into 4 hour - day long charges....happened to a Tesla owner neighbor.....reality is not there for EVs quite yet and they use a lot of carbon to make them.... As crazy as this sounds, Porsche, Audi, and BMW seem to be doing it right.

Unfortunately, Jaguar is shrinking their dealer network. My dealer no longer sells new Jags, only CPO. They can honor warranty and get parts for the next 10 years.
My understanding is that they’ll have fewer than 50 dealers in the US.

And 20 in the UK. Hope they keep the good ones (if they can find 20!) and dump the bad.

Is there a "list" of where those 50 dealers will be....?
A big negative to my way of thinking.
Fortunately I seem to be able to get scheduled in reasonably fast these days at Jaguar Boston.
Other dealerships in the vicinity are still booking out weeks.
Fewer dealers means longer waits.
You just have to hope your Jag does not break down when you are in an even more underserved area.

It would be quite interesting to see what the EV market would look like if the government hadn't spent the last 20 years subsidizing it. It should be remembered that solar home subsidies go back to the 70's which did little but help out those who needed help the least. If you must pay someone to buy something, many red flags should appear.
EV's need to stand on their own. And imagine believing that buying a USD100K electric car [as many did] is going to save the Earth, especially when so many of these folks are jetting around the world on a regular basis. Although I generally like Elon Musk, this has to be one of the greatest scams of all-time.

Yeah, I had to stop in at a Jaguar dealer 1,000 miles from home once. But imagine you try to drive your Jaguar across country, exploring the back roads (because that's what we do with Jaguars) when there's only 50 dealers nationwide and something breaks. Your only option will be to leave it at Bubba's Garage and take the bus home.

"Only" 50 dealers in the whole country, my heart bleeds for you.
Try Oz where we have maybe 20 in the whole country, every one of those in the major cities (ie zero regional let alone country), and even that low number will surely shrink to maybe a dozen or so in the near future.
As I have pointed out before there is one, count 'em one JLR dealership in my entire state of South Australia and the next closest is some 700 km away in Melbourne.
Jeez you blokes have it so tough!

Oof, I feel privileged. Here on the Gold Coast we have 1 local, another 3 within an hour away (Brisbane), then another 2 within 2 hours (Toowoomba and Maroochydore), though I suspect a few of them dont carry Jag stock usually, probably Range Rover and Discoveries mainly.
