Default No regrets - Funnest Car Ever. Anything that can match it?

So just got my car back from the shop - had to take it in pretty much right after delivery because of a charging system fault. The only thing I could do was detail it, install a CTEK, read most of the posts here and wait for an appointment. Been riding around all afternoon in sport+dynamic. This has got to be the funnest car I've ever owned. Maybe not the fastest on the road, but just an amazing car to experience and stare at. I am literally chortling along with the exhaust every time I step on the gas or downshift. I will definitely need a radar detector!

I have owned BMW, Jaguar, Infiniti and Audi "sport sedans." I even restored a a 72 Jensen Interceptor (british car with lucas electronics and a mopar 440) and a 65 Mustang with my sons to get that RWD muscle car grunt. I am 6'2, 220 and have always driven in some type of sedan. My brother insisted that I would have buyer's remorse buying the F Type. He was so, so wrong. It's surprisingly comfortable, but I'd squeeze in if necessary.

Other than some really exotic supercar, or a dedicated track car, has anyone gotten similar thrills from another car?

F-Type has been the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on.

I was cross shopping the R8 and the Challenger Demon. Very happy I went the F-Type route. Admittedly, my wallet makes creaking noises when it opens (like Alan's on 2.5 Men) and it took a great car to get me to plop down the cash, but so happy I did.

Only car that can compete in the fun department: V6S convertible.

540c is a bit out of the F Type's price group isn't it?

E92 M3 was a blast and my current 4c is addicting too, but have to admit on the open road the F type def the best lol. If you guys recall i traded my 14 gtr for the ftype and I have no regrets except for the street cred the gtr got when i drove it but it was from the wrong crowd lol

I've driven many different cars and have to agree that the F-type is special. Looks great, feels great to drive, and people love it.

However, and no buyers remorse on my part, but for me, under $125K the most fun involving cars from a driving standpoint were, and maybe again are, Alfas. Not as nice to look at, but more involving. I've driven all the German and much of the American stuff, but never heard anything like the angry scream my '87 Milano Verde made as the revs mounted. And nothing was as well balanced and gave an adrenaline rush like that car did. Not saying there aren't other cars that do the same but I haven't experienced them.

On the silly side...had a Lotus Super 7, drove to and from Seattle-Vancouver for vintage racing, could drag fingers on the ground while driving ( though not much point obviously). Hopeless though in the rain. But always fun.
Have a Z3 M Coupe as a dd and track car...no room in the garage when I bought the FType and so put it up for sale, found a buyer, changed my mind and so my 3 yrs old to me , always wanted a huge tank dream car '97 S500 with 65,000km is on the block.
The Jag is clearly a keeper....but so is the Z3.

Default F Type - love it!

The last time I had a sports car was 1986-1990 (pre kids!)- it was a Mazda RX7 with a 13B built rotary and a 5 speed. I think I was getting about 170 hp at the time, and the car was just a little light in the back, so in the rains I would put a 20lb sand bag over each back wheel! It red lined at 8000 RPM, and was a absolute screamer! Loved every minute of it, and actually cried when I traded it in on a Ford Explorer!

The F Type evokes a similar emotion (except no sand bags needed!). I have the Base Premium, and it is such a joy to drive! Its only got 650 miles on it, so I have been religous about not going over 4000 - 4500 RPM, but even with that, windows, down, exhaust open, dynamic engagaed, its a blast! What I love about it, is the car feels quite normal in regular D with the exhaust on the normal setting. Flip the switch and it becomes a different animal. I cannot tell you how many people will walk by, and comment on the beautiful lines and the shape. We are doing a wine country trip tomorrow, so it will be the first 150+ mile trip! This one has the potential of being a car to cry over when I have to turn it in!!

And this is the angle I love the most on my IRR!

Cheers!

SVR goes for about 142k here without options
570s goes for 270 (you can get a decent discount since its winter)
I saw mp4-12c goes for as low as 140k
540c should be 190-200k MSRP ( again you can get a decent discount )

even if you get the 12c to match the price you getting a better deal, jaguar lost its brands name with all these cheaper versions of its cars, I love f type almost bought one too but couldn't live with the fact that someone with 45k can get the same brand car that I have also the rumor of a 4 cylinder f type got me tripping v6 is 78k how much they gonna price the i4 for 60k ? now you got a car that you paid 142k and someone paid 60k ( possibly) and it's not a different model of the brand its the same car different engines

Yep; apples and pumpkin pie. Base price for a 540C here is $196,500 and the base price of an F type is $78,500...so over 2.5 X as much....

I was VERY close to pulling the trigger on an E92 a few weeks ago. My brother works for APEX Race Parts and a lot of my friends still have and love their E92/E90 M3's (as do I). I was also in the market for a early model V8 R8 or GTR but I got an insane deal from my buddy that I couldn't pass up. I am very happy with this car and hope to break the mold on modding it.

With respect, your statements really make no sense. Have you looked at the model ranges of BMW, Mercedes or Audi ? They run the gamut from entry-level to ultra luxurious, just like Jaguar (and with a similar price spread). Have they "lost their brand name" ? Do you know how many 4 cylinder "luxury brands" are on the road today? The chances are that the next Mercedes you see in Toronto today is one of them.
