I thought I should start a new thread rather than piggyback on one that started 5 years ago. I had read the tutorial that Lizzardo posted about defeating the Symposer by plugging the outlet pipe where it met the outlet adapter. I finally got around to popping the hood on my 2021 F Type R this morning. The top photo is Lizzardo's, the bottom is mine. Photo of mine taken with the firewall towards the right.
Unless I am not seeing something obvious, there is no fitting and hose leading to the firewall on my car. So Jaguar must have deleted the Symposer in the last model year or two ?
One less thing to worry about.
If there is one, it's been tucked under that cover for a cleaner look. That black cover cover has hinges on the valve cover side. Unclip the firewall side, flip the cover up and get another picture.
Here is another pic with the plastic cover flipped up and back. I think the only hose that goes to the firewall is for the air conditioner.
I don't see it. I wonder if that was for all models of that year or just some, and what year that happened. I find it to be obnoxious dead weight, so good riddance.
Yes...looks like you DO NOT have one. Congrats From your photos, there is no main body, or the tube that would connect to the diaphragm at the firewall.
From looking at the schematic of the Symposer there sure was a lot of parts involved just to funnel some noise into the cockpit. I'm glad that the factory decided not to install it on my car.
Before I looked for it I took a drive and tried to listen for the sound coming through behind the dashboard. But each time I accelerated hard with the active exhaust open, the sudden increase in noise right about 3500 RPM seemed to be coming from directly outside the driver's door and under the car. I have not seen a diagram of the exhaust system but I assume there is a muffler or some component right there.
Also when I accelerate hard and back off the throttle while in the manual shift mode, the loud bangs and pops also emanate from the same spot. The first time I made that happen it startled me a little since the sound was so close, I guess I was expecting it to be coming more from the exhaust tips.
Perhaps some owners of 2020 and 2021 F Type R's will chime in and let us know if their cars have that contraption or not.

Thanks for the diagram Therock88. The sound seems to be coming from the X junction, or around parts # 30.1.01 and 30.10.02. Where are the valves located ?
Cluck, it appears that the 2021 P450 version also has dispensed with the Symposer.

Sure thing....Valve is in red circle. Only one pictured, but they are on both sides.
