Default Not a DD, but...

My new 2021 R is definitely not my daily driver but with winter coming in fast, I just cant stop driving it! I've essentially been commuting (100 miles per day) in it every day. Lol Its just too darn fun to drive. Plus, I want to get past the darn break in period. I've driven lesser cars less than this money pit! Hahaha As they say, you only live once. It's a car, not a model...

Daily driving my F-Type convertible is the best part of living in southern California

Well mine is not getting the dormant Winter treatment!!
The Michelin Pilt All-seasons get fitted in a couple of weeks.
Then I plan to keep using the car routinely except in snow and bad ice conditions.
I think I have exceeded "run-in" with 8K miles in 7 months!!

First 3000 kms avoid frequent cold start followed by short distance driving, no full throttle work, no track days!

Also in the first 2000 kms drive at varying engine speeds but don't exceed 4500 rpm or 105 mph.

Annoyingly, that break-in info was missing from the first edition of the owner's handbook, and my dealer informed me there was no break-in period, just drive it. Somewhat later, Jag released an addendum with the break-in info.

Typical Jaaaaag.

I'm sure it's fine. This break in is the longest, most mileage I've ever seen. Regardless, I'm patiently following it because, well, it's a Jaaaag. Lol

I did kind of follow the break-in period.
What I did notice was that the car consumed about one pint of oil in the first 3K miles.
I was concerned I might have an "oil burner", but now at 8K miles no further oil has been needed.
So, I guess oil use and break in (not down) are related.

Unlikely to be related to mileage or break-in, I did recently discover the coolant was below the minimum level.
I topped it off and have not noticed any subsequent lowering, which leads me to think it was shipped with low coolant and and never checked at the selling dealership
Needless to say, I shall be checking it for a while. I have never had to top up coolant on other cars during normal use.

The only Jag I've had to top up the coolant in was my 2001 XK8 which developed a split in the expansion tank after 60,000 miles.
