I don't have a photo anymore. But my first car was the spitting image of this. A Triumph Dolemite Sprint, 4-cylinder 16V 2L and 120hp..
It had a 'Laycock-de-Normanville' overdirive. An electric system that engaged another gear like "3.5" in 3rd and 5-th gear in 4th.
If you changed down from 4 to '3.5' on a trunk road, once you could overtake you switched down to 3rd, car went from 70 to 110 kmph in about 5 secs !
I think there are certain cars that can pull it off (mostly cars from the 1970s, which is corroborated by the examples mentioned above) but I'll go out on a limb and say that for no car is it the best choice of color.
My folks had an '89 Chevy Silverado sportside in "Dark Saddle Metallic". At the time I thought it looked really good on the truck. Probably not so much on a sport car though...

I have to admit, coming from the Porsche world, the "brown" on the older models looks good. In a way, it's kind of nostalgic or classical in an automotive sense.
So back on topic, I'm really enjoying my Italian Racing Red on my R and how it shines. I can't wait to take her out of the garage today.
Wow, that's gorgeous! The red and black goes together really well. Interesting that your car has the black rear diffuser and side skirts. Must be an option. I like it.
Huh. ..... Never heard of it done like that. My expel installer (high end exotic installer) who is amazing at what he does, Says the complete opposite. Ceramic has to be done after the expel. Very weird as I never heard of anyone putting the ceramic first. But hey as long as its staying in place for you without issue then cheers man!!

****just text my EXPEL guy , were buddies. Here is his response -
"No, the Xpel will not stick to it. Just had an issue with a customer who did the same thing on an Audi. He didn't tell me he ceramic coated it and the film came off while he was driving it lol."
I'm the third owner of my car. Second owner put PPF on it, but then decided to wrap the car because he wanted "red on red." (It has red interior). Then it wasn't the right shade of red, so he changed the wrap again - to another red wrap. I bought it, had the wrap taken off prior to delivery, and returned to it's original Ultra Blue Metallic. I also had PPF put back on. Found a paper in the glove box showing that the first owner (pre-wraps) had it ceramic coated. At this point, is the ceramic coat still there? I don't know much about these things, LOL!
Depending on how long the coat had been on before the first wrap applied would dictate how much of the ceramic was still on the paint. If the ppf was properly applied, there will be no issue with the ppf properly adhering to the coated surface. My film is still firmly in place on top of the ceramic coat after 5 years.

I'll have to check the date on the paperwork. It was probably close to a year before the first wrap was done. They did a nice job with the PPF. I'm not too concerned about it sticking, considering how hard it was to get the wrap off. I still have reminders of it in the door jambs!

I'm intrigued by the "pimento red" in your sig, never heard of it before and I wonder how it compares with the normal/older "red zone" red that I have.
My guess is it's the exact same shade of red and JLR have just done their usual trick of renaming something to make it seem new, but of course I could be wrong!
