Fishbits, if you haven't gone to Monterey for CDElegance, my favorite event is the viewing stroll on Ocean Ave typically Tuesday and/or Wednesday, and followed by standing at the botttom corner before the beach to watch and listen to all the contestants depart. A thrill!
My first year taking the F there, I recall lots of attention and photos -- of my ride! -- being taken.
Other commitments deter me this year, but let us know what you thought.

I was born in Carmel, moved around a bit, and then ended up back in Monterey working in hotels 2002-2005. Free passes, back stage entry, etc. =) It was a delight. I remember looking for pics, as this was pre-cell phones and pre- me carrying around an SLR or camera, our Portola Plaza property had a huge lobby and we had something like $30 million in Ferrari sitting in the lobby. I can do research to find the exact models, but that week is simply the greatest. You don't need to go to Pebble... just hang out near Quail in Carmel Valley (Carmel Valley Ranch might be doing some good shows now, too), or on Lighthouse, or on Calle Principal, etc. It is just a never ending progression of delights.
Admittedly, you could sit on Tib Blvd where I live in Marin and see something similar any day of the week. LOL The cars around here are bonkers.
I've no plans to go, as of yet. Keith Martin's Sports Car Market is indespensible, and I would hope any car lovers here would consider subscribing. It's a joy. They do great coverage.
But I might tool down this weekend to see this marquee Porsche: https://journal.classiccars.com/2019...auction-guide/
That thing is epic.
I really really want to go. But I am also lazy and sleepy. lol
edit: this sucks. travel is SO OFF for our industry this year. Not sure what it is... people saving for a recession? people worried about the world? But the rates for hotels in Monterey are LOOoooow. It's more alluring when you see rates as low as this. I remember similar properties being around $600 just 10 years ago.
I think the boomers are dying, and the 2nd gen of car buyers are into 4wd and Japanese imports. Time to pick up some classics on the cheap!
