Default Paint protection while awaiting your clear-bra

For us spirited drive enthusiasts, waiting for the clear-bra installer to arrive and add the needed paint chip protection is agonizing.

Tip of the day...
When I did HPDE track events with my previous Z4 coupe, I didn't have a clear bra, so I used 3M removable clear transparent shelf liner. It has the same stickiness as blue tape, but doesn't make the car look as goofy...

I also use it on long road trips on my SUV.

Below are pics of the 3M material protecting behind the tires and areas of front of my new F-Type R. I am taking it out with the car club tomorrow and don't want to mess the paint up prior to the clear-bra install in 2 weeks.

The 3M material comes off very nicely and can be left on for a couple of days without issues.

Cost: a mere $10.00 at Lowes, Walmart, Target or Home Depot. Best price is Walmart or Target.

Hope to have a 2016 F Type R soon and having been using the 3M Clear Bras for around the past 10 years and the latest is the best. Can fix minor stuff by pouting boiling water on it and certain small damage spots will repair themselves. Have had a local shop do the last 5 cars and very happy with he results.

I miss my 355. Wish they'd stop making them looking like Alien space ships

The F355 is unfortunately sold to a friend of mine and the F-Type R is her replacement. Manual shift and bad shoulder forced me to sell. Maybe one day I will buy her back.

The Contact shelf liner worked great on today's drive to Santa Ysabel with the car club with no paint chips on the rocker panels. The car did awesome on the drive... so much fun.

For temporary protection I have used a product called Trakktape. It works well.

I'm going to get my car low-loaded straight from the dealers up to the paint protection place...they have promised not to clean it first, will get it properly detailed before the film goes on.
Then no risk of any stone chips or over zealous work experience kid installing the dealer's swirl mark package.

Mine had a bunch of swirls and all on the paint and the dealer agreed to do a full interior and exterior detail by an external professional detailer as part of the deal.
