Default PB-6 Big Brake Kit for an F-Type - A Good Idea?

Hi folks,

I have a 2014 F-Type R and it's getting to a point where my standard steel brakes need replacing. I initially wanted to retrofit second hand carbon cermaics but according to some people on this forum that wasn't a great idea as people are generally not fond of them? Plus it required a new master brake cylinder and ABS recalibration which sounded like a pain. So I'm now wondering if I could maybe go for the PB-6 steel brakes kit. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on them?

https://www.pbbrakes.com/brake-kits/jaguar/f-type.html

My main concern is if it's just a straight forward swap without any further ECU/ ABS tuning and and no need to replace the master brake cylinder? Also, would there be enough clearance with my wheels? I have these ones: https://www.carbodydesign.com/media/...-side-vent.jpg

Here's someone who fitted them to an F-Type 400 Sport: https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6027
I'm guessing he sourced the Jaguar decals for the calipers separately somewhere. I'd like to do the same.

Before anyone asks, my reasoning is purely for looks and regular driving with the occasional fast twisty road blast, not track days. I just hate the way the standard steel brakes look. But I also don't want to compromise on the drivability of the car (like with CCBs).

Any thoughts appreciated!

Cheers!

Brake master cylinder is the same part number whether you have a base model or an SVR. The ECU tuning for CCB is essentially preloading the brakepads so very minor. In regards to fitment, I'd reach out to PB and have them email you a template to check for wheel clearance.

I did a full PB brake upgrade on my 2020 SVR. They are awesome. Huge weight savings over stock and excellent performance. Plus they look great. Email Dan at PB Brakes he will be a huge help.

Those look fantastic! Thanks for the feedback. How did you get the JAGUAR logo on them? Do you know where I could order that? Did you get a bodyshop to attach the decals to the callipers?

Cheers!

My vanity loves the wheels. The logo looks like my initials.
