Default Piech GT

I thought the Ferrari Roma was the most blatant F Type rip off, until today. I just saw this article and this new car looks 99% like the F Type, to my eye anyway, except for the back end. The greenhouse shape is a tiny bit like the MB GT and I actually like the backside, but it looks like someone traced a drawing of an F Type.

Holy copycat Batman!!!

The copying is so blatant, and with that we must think of the Irish poet Oscar Wilde: “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.”

A very good imitation, but as is the case with most imitations, it fall significantly short of the Jaguar.

Interesting car. I wonder how much of the similar shapes we see in 2 seat sports cars is the results of wind tunnel testing and computer modeling ? Like maybe the designers run a program to have a computer generate the ideal shape, and then they make some adjustments for manufacturing constraints and safety and crash worthiness considerations. And miraculously the cars look similar to the F type, Roma and Aston Martin ?

Props to the rims, they are definitely original looking.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Not sure why this is a bad thing.

It's unknown if the production car will look like that exactly as that is the concept model viewed a few years back. Although, it doubt it will differ too much but there will likely need to be work done to make sure the front and rear lights meet normal height requirements. It looks good from the side, but other angles not so much:

It definitely resembles an F type, but also definitely wont sound like one. I'd much rather have the snorting V8 than the woosh vacuum cleaner EV sound.

I like the headlights although they sure look like the current 911. The lower splitter needs some work. Props to the designers who added a conventional grill, fully functional or not. One of my critiques of the Tesla Models 3 and Y is that the blunt front ends look like a baby Beluga whale.

I see this as validation for our good taste. Nice profile, but the front's too anodyne for me...the F-Type's clearly speak to Jag's lineage.

Seems like every car manufacturer who makes a 2 door coupe with long front end and short rear is an F-Type copycat. Wondering how else you can make a 2 seater 2 door coupe with long front end and not look "like" an F-Type?...I have seen every single similar car get posted as a copy cat of the F-Type. I wonder if the Aston Martin forums accuse the F-types of stealing their design? They were made before the F-Types...And by the same designer. hmmm?

They have even gone to the extent of imitation by making it a “porker” like our Ftypes. 3900lbs….. True flattery.
