Try it out with some color masking tape. Most guys on here won't like it but if you do that's all that matters. I have a racing stripe on my pano roof...
Interesting! I did not see this one coming.
I agree with "GreatWhite" that F-type is more classy unlike the Nissan. But I think the F-Type can pull of more, dare I say this, youthful and sport looks and still stand out as more mature.
But you guys have made me think a lot harder about this. Thanks for that!
The fact of the matter is you should do exactly as you'd like. It doesn't matter whether a handful of us - or all of us/none of us - agree with an intended modification (any modification). All that matters is whether you like the end result. Your car is gonna look fantastic almost regardless of what you "throw" at or on it. Whether I, or anyone here, agrees with that is another matter entirely.
You asked, we answered. (And you'll almost always get varying opinions...and that's usually a good thing).

I don't mind the idea of subtle red highlights (depends a lot on the base colour too).
Jay is right - you do what appeals to you. You'll always get opinions either way.
The detailing on the Project 7 is a good example of highlight stripes that you don't read many complaints about (although I don't like the door meatball personally), and this XKRS has some pretty aggressive bonnet detailing...

I would add that this forum tends to be quite conservative when it comes to modifying the appearance of any Jaguar model. I am not convinced the factory deserves quite the level of deference granted it by the forum in this regard.
I suspect the designers themselves would have changed some details had the bean counters or production engineers not won the day.
