Porsche Owner Finally Realize Why The F-Type Is Better Than A Porsche 911
Oh lordy, for sure to each their own, but when I listen to this...
991.2 GT3 sound check
The F-Type V6 is definitely epic, but this is my favorite V6 to-date (again YMMV): WORLD'S GREATEST SOUNDING CAR?! Lotus Emira With Free Flow Headers + Valvetronic Titanium Exhaust

Agree! I have a 2015 F-Type R, modified with pulleys, intake, and high flow cats. It produces beastly noises. But... have you guys actually sat in a GT3 at full tilt? The thing sounds ridiculously good. And you can get the 'regular' flat 6's to sound pretty close to the same with an aftermarket exhaust.
And this whole 'better' than a Porsche 911 thing, is so subjective. The F-Type is a grand touring car that acts a bit like a sports car. The 911 (modern) is a sports car that acts a bit like a grand touring car. Once you start talking about early water cooled cars like 996's and 997's, they are different cars altogether. And don't get me started on the air cooled cars - you want a car with uhhh .... "soul".. those cars certainly have it.
I really don't mean to be a wet blanket here, I think the F-type is really amazing.... but the series of "crap on other cars" threads that have been popping up here lately make no sense other than folks with confirmation bias trying to justify their decision as the best one in the world, and their car is better than everyone else's. Fine, go ahead and believe that, but it ain't necessarily true! Why don't we all work on a mutual appreciation for other marques and appreciate that we're not all relegated to boring utilitarian vehicles (we may be someday, if we're driving at all).

Lol I know I know, I definitely stretched some rules maybe. Just saying in absolute, the Porsche flat 6's sound good in the right configs. Heres a fun guy to watch (apologies all, I do realize this is an F-Type forum)
His is an older 987 sypder, I think with just headers and the factory sport exhaust. It's a sypder but same motor as a normal 981.2 Boxster S or Cayman S, which can be had in the 30's I believe.
I'll shut up about it now

The cars have different personalities for people with different personalities. One of my business partners is a porsche guy, he has had 3, he would turn his nose up at owning a Jag and prefer the porsche for several reasons really unrelated to driving the car (eg porsche is the benchmark sports car, very reliable, great resale, desirable by like minded souls). Owning one makes him very happy, he is a very analytical guy. I am probably on the other end of the scale (or should I say "spectrum", lol), I want something really pretty and different first and then I can compromise a little on everything else. So owning jags suits me much more. Some people love both, and that would be a fantastic way to be
Goal post moved. For the money on the used market you can pick up a 14-16 F Type V6S droptop 20-27k with low to mid mid mileage ranges I have seen some with mileage ranges near 80k miles sell under 17k. To me thats a bargain the Porsche will cost 2-3x + on the used market from a 718 or 911 variant. The F-Type has proven you can literally exotic have fun for very cheap at least for me 20-30k is cheap. To make it even more special you can get an 2016-2018 XF or XE or F-Pace under 12k and add it into your daily driver and you will have an exotic and a luxury cruiser for under 36k still cheaper than one Porsche. Im just saying
Your looking at 150k+ depending on year and miles heck 2008 GT3 RS are selling in these ranges
Your looking at 140k+ depending on year and miles for the starting prices for the cheaper 458 on a 2010 model

check out my post above, the video of the 987 sypder. Its a very special edition but you can do the same exhaust mods to a regular 987.2 boxster S (or cayman if you like coupes), which averages in the 30's for a decent one. Same motors. Stock will be slightly slower than an F-Type V6 S, but lighter and sharper. Different strokes for sure - just illustrating what a good Porsche flat 6 sounds like

I never wanted a Porsche or a Ferrari or Lambo them cars are just cars with handling and performance plus they very expensive most people don't have 100s of thousands of dollars to drop on an exotic. For the price these F-Types are on the used market 20- 30k for v6s and v8s models with low to mid miles has made driving an exotic obtainable at an unbelievable bargain. When I get in my F-Type V6S Droptop its an event it turns all the head tons of people coming up asking what kinda car is even today for example somebody thought it was a Maserati lol I said nope its a Jag. Then the fun factor is incredible all the time I enjoy tearing up the highways open air with the original soundtrack MY14 exhaust with loud pops and bangs driving by Porsches 911s and 718s, Ferraris, AMGs, M cars, Vettes, Rolls, etc and the F-Type grabs all the attention from admirers and some haters unfortunately, but that's part of the experience of driving a gorgeous exotic erotic art called the F-Type. I wouldn't have it any other way. I also like the fact that its rare to see another F-Type so you stand out a lot more. I know people have their preference in cars and thats cool I driven other brands my second favorite is Aston Martin and third is Benz. But to me Jags is best cars I had about 7 mainly XKRs which I still have an XKR drop top as well. The XKR is one of my favorites it grabs lots of attention from admirers and some haters as well. But ever since I got my F-Type last year this is my favorite Jag each drive is an event. I often times finding myself watching youtube videos and other forums and read the comments and a lot of people say since they got an F-Type each drive is an event they are right. Its hard to explain it but yeah everyone like what they like I prefer Jags.

Recently I have been on a roadtrip with several cars and 4 of them were 911. At the end of the trip one guy send me ads for F-Type and I saw another guy listing ads on his phone over his shoulder
Hit the nail firmly on the head there. It's similar to why Alfa's are so beloved - they are flawed in many ways, but they are cars that make you fall in love with them, look past the faults and cherish what you have.
A customer of mine (before I retired) put it perfectly, as the owner of an Aston V8 Vantage with her hubby owning a 911 Turbo. Her hubby's 911 was a better car in every measureable metric - it drove better, it used less fuel, it was vastly cheaper to service and insure, and it was more reliable, but she would make a point of leaving the house 5 minutes early every day just to open the garage and stare at her Aston before she left. That's what a car with a soul does. The 911 is a fantastic car (I've wanted one since I was 6 years old) but for her hubby it was just that, a car, a tool to do a job.
