I agree with Portlander... don't let your heart rule your head. You have to be able to walk away from something if it doesn't pass all your sniff tests. Personally, I'd be concerned about what taking off the wrap would do to the original finish. How hard is it to redo that original color?
Try to live with the tires that are on this car, if you do buy it, if nothing else, to see if you would buy the same. There are a ton of threads on "what are the best tires". It all depends on your driving style, your climate, the general condition of the roads you drive on. I live in Wisconsin, so summer-only tires are a non-starter. You can't drive on them much below 40 degrees F/ 5 C. I saw a video of a stopped/parked F sliding across a sloped iced up parking lot! Summer onlys are stickier tires, so they tend to wear faster. I have my second set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS (dry, wet, snow) on. Lots of opinions, read them all and decide for yourself. When I have tires installed, I ask for Road Force balancing, an extra cost, but IMO worth it.
Many of us in northern climates are technically without one as our F-Types become garage queens for four months. Nick, don't let the lack of actually owning one during the winter affect your process in finding the Jaguar you really want. Patience grasshopper!

If you are moving forward on this car and it's a coupe and you would like photos of all the 'trunk's panels and cubbies, I can post those or PM you.
@Portlander I'm beginning to have second thoughts based on the inspection report that I just got back (see below). And you're right about garage-queen-ness - I fully intend to not drive this car in any season that sees salt on the road. So likely November/December into April or so. It's not often that you fall for a car this hard, haha.
@Valerie Stabenow A video I watched about 'what to know' before buying said something that has stuck with me 'Buy the car for your grandmother' essentially - take the care with the decision as if you were getting it for your beloved grandparent. So I definitely hear you about that. Based on this inspection report, I'm having a hard time keeping up my hype. But yes, I would definitely love if you could PM or post those trunk cubby photos.
I was going to ask my buddy that has a body shop what his take on removing wraps is, but it might be a moot point. As to the tires, I'm not that picky about them other than having had Contis on my previous car for the past 13 years and being happy with them. I think they were Extremecontact DW, replaced with the latest Extremewhatever summers before I sold it.

So as to the report! I'll just repost what I sent to my friend:
Summary:
PREFORMED SAFETY INSPECTION, ENGINE LIGHT ON, COOLANT LEAK AND OIL LEAK PRESENT FROM VEHICLE, WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED TO PASS SAFETY.
Details:
SUNSHADE SEIZED, WOULD REQUIRE FURTHER DIAGNOSIS, POSSIBLE HEAD LINER REMOVAL.
EXHAUST VALVE NOT WORKING, POSSIBLY REQUIRES MUFFLER ASSEMBLY BUT WOULD NEED TO INVESTIGATE ISSUE
AIR INTAKE SYSTEM LEAK FROM PCV VALVE: SCANNED FOR DTCS, CODES FOR BANK 1 AND BANK 2 SYSTEM LEAN. SMOKED INTAKE AND FOUND AIR LEAK COMING FROM PCV VALVE ON PASSENGER SIDE CAM COVER.
OIL LEAK FROM VACUUM PUMP SEAL AND LOWER TIMING COVER
COOLANT LEAK FROM REAR COOLANT CROSSOVER PIPE
Not mentioned or quoted, as I just asked informally, but although the supercharger pulley feels okay, he says there is a bit of noise coming from there, but can't say definitively without a diagnosis.
This estimate does not include work on the sunshade or active exhaust, but they confirmed that the lumbar support on the driver's seat works:
So this ofc is in CAD. But let's say those extra things are "easy" and it's another $2000 on top of that. If the owner were to say 'sure, I'll take $8400 off the asking price' would you feel comfortable buying this car?
Is the logic more 'Now that we know there are problems, and they're fixed, the car is bound to be more solid going forward' or instead 'With all these issues, even if fixed, we don't know if there is something hiding that'll crop up in a few months after the car sits in the garage'?
Once again guys, I really do appreciate your reading my posts on the matter and taking the time to write back about it!
I would pass honestly. If there were lets say 1 major 1 minor issue, I would go for it if the price is right, but this is a lot of things that communicate to me that the previous owner(s) neglected the vehicle and that is a red flag for me. Also with so many issues and ignorant owner, I would be dubious about the paint under the wrap. As it is said sometimes, you don't buy the car you buy the owner!
I once bought vehicle like this and it was just a nightmare. Constant new issues, sold it for less than I put in it without including the purchase price. Never more for me.

I appreciate the insight J444G, thank you. I've decided to pass on it, yeah. The owner is still trying to negotiate a bit on the price, but... I think that I've fallen hard enough for the F-Type that I want a good, long-term experience out of it. Buying one with so many compromises, even if most of them are repaired on the seller's dime, I feel like it might be a ticking timebomb, and one that would cause me to regret the purchase.
Doesn't mean I'm not disappointed and a little bit down, but I'll get over it.
What kind of panels or doors am I looking for in the back? I know he had the kind of plastic tub, as well as the panel that goes to the left of it, but I don't recall if he had the panel that goes on top of the tub - was this something that's supposed to be with every car?
Here are photos of what should be in the trunk for this era F
The first 3 photos show the interior of the trunk and the very top panel that mainly covers the large cubby area. You can see that I have the bubble wrapped F jack, a breaker bar with wheel nut socket. There's an elastic strap that I put the factory supplied mobile/portable air compressor in.
Photo 4 shows the battery cover popped up
Photo 5 shows detail of battery area, with jug of tire sealant and the tow hook
Photo 6 is the factory supplied compressor and its case
Photo 7 is the storage cubby, out of the car and measured across, it's about 21 inches..
All these covers/cubbies have a thin carpet-like material on them.
May I ask what an F Jack is? It sounds like an amazing piece of technology.
I'm pretty sure Valerie simply means "F-Type jack".
As in the OE factory jack that came with some early F-Types, for example my MY2015 came with one (to go with the space-saver spare tyre).
It's just a simple wind-up scissor jack but at least it has the correct head size and shape for the jacking points.
I have used mine two or three times for emergency roadside purposes, and it worked perfectly OK, but I would never use it as a garage jack where I use a trolley jack instead.
Apologies for starting a new thread - I was going to edit the original, but I no longer am able to! Basically I'm asking for a bit of technical advice before I book an inspection. As there don't seem to be any Jaguar specialists in the area, would you be comfortable getting a PPI done at a dealer, or are there (non $) reasons to avoid them?
Yesterday I went to look at this one car (same one w/ the disabled spoiler) - a 2017 S AWD. Overall it's beautiful. The wrap isn't the best job I've ever seen, but I've also seen few wraps up close, so it's possible I'm just uneducated. Owner claims that the paint (Black Berry) underneath is in good shape, and judging by his old IG photos, it seems true. The wrap is something I don't care one way or the other about - I can just remove it and be as happy, but the colour is neat. Otherwise it has the kind of interior wear you'd expect from an 8ish year old car with 110k km.
Mechanically, I'm fairly confident in it, except for following:
The exhaust - I can't confirm if the valves are working. They may be stuck open? When pressing the Loud button while parked, it flashes its light a few times, but the sound doesn't seem to change.
The sun shade thing - it won't open. If I try to push it a little harder, it seems to start to buckle somewhere in the middle. Obviously something is stuck? A few threads I saw sounded inconclusive to this particular one.
The parking assist - no idea how this even works (despite a lot of googling, most info seems to only speak of what it does, not the process of using it). I press the button beside the touch screen, but nothing happens. I assume the button only exists if the feature exists on the car? Maybe I was using it incorrectly?
The seat - again I don't have a lot of experience. All the other 'ways' seem to work fine, but I'm unsure if the lumbar support adjustment is working, as I couldn't feel much of a difference for trying to make it stronger. I blanked on testing the passenger seat.
And the spoiler (as mentioned in the previous thread) - he mentioned cutting a 'wire rod, a wire' which is... possibly concerning but maybe not. Is it possible this could be connected w/ the parking assist or exhaust valves, or are they completely different systems/wiring?
Coolant pipes have been upgraded (but not to metal), and the supercharger coupling seems in decent shape. I'd want to change these pipes at some point, but it doesn't seem urgent at the moment.
Otherwise, everything else feels functional as far as I can see. So can anyone tell me roughly what you think or know about the complexity of fixing these issues? To me these don't seem like dealbreakers as long as the seller is willing to adjust his asking price accordingly based on what the inspection tells me.
Other things of note:
He has no maintenance records save for the last oil change, however he claims he is the second owner, and has had the car for around two years. His IG bears out the length of ownership claim
He only has the one key. Is this worth haggling over?
Cheers, and Happy Thanksgiving to any fellow Canucks who are watching.
(the car in question)
check the coolant level before and after your test drive but let the engine cool down a bit first !, does it have cruise control buttons on the r/h side of the steering wheel, electric folding door mirrors, reversing camera, heated seats and steering wheel and a decent infotainment system...P.H..

Much thanks, Valerie! I have seen this complete set (more or less) on most of the cars I've looked at, but I didn't want to assume that it was all standard equipment. I'm very happy to have something else to look for, now.
