I get it. The writer will probably experience a 2nd childhood, mid-life crisis or whatever it's called today.
At 58, and not having been wed until the age of 35, I've had a few "life periods".

Going off on a tangent, my observation is that getting married after age 30 gives the best chance of a lasting relationship. Conversely, everyone I know who got married in their 20s is divorced, so, don't apologize! That'll be $100, and you can pay on the way out

The best alternative to marriage is to find a woman you really hate and buy her a house. Way, way cheaper.

Yeah, not much of a review. He spends more time talking about himself than the car. Related to the side comment, this is from the day I brought mine home.

The author sounds like your typical mid-thirties guy who realized that life is not actually as presented by the hucksters on Madison Avenue. If he is lucky, he will morph from his adolescent pupae into full adulthood by realizing that living a life void of regret demands leaving the past behind and embracing the present 100%.

ahhh, there are exceptions. My missus and I have been together since we were just 16, living together since 21, married since 28, I'm now on the wrong side of 55. But then she has stellar taste in men, and fantastic taste in cars (on her second Jag, and essentially put her foot down when I was considering trading the F Type for an F Pace SVR). No religious or other cultural peculiarities involved, just good mates with a lot of common interests and enjoy each others' company (or perhaps I enjoy hers and she is a good actress). But I figure that she could have murdered me twice and served the full terms and still be free now, no doubt every so often she wishes she had.

So you think she may be in the "If I had done what I should have done when I should have done it, I'd be out of jail by now" category?

Lucky man you are.
Having the right woman in your life is like a vacation every day.

The bottom line: It is more prestigious than a Corvette and the fully optioned out R is $70,000 cheaper than the equivalent AMG GTS or the new AMG SL. You can literally buy a hardtop Corvette AND a F-type R convertible for the price of a AMG-SL !!!!
