Default rear ?brake noise turning at low speed

2013 F-type S with 52,000 miles bought used from Jaguar dealer about a month ago.

Had the exhaust box replaced after 3 weeks due to the valve squeal, now sorted.

Since then ( but may be coincidental), low speed maneuvering (car park speeds) has become "sticky" with a low rumbling noise form the rear that I think comes from the inside rear wheel assembly depending on which way you are turning the car. My sense is that the inside rear brake is catching. Anyone experience of this or something else that may explain the issue?

Have you tried hard braking to see if it would clear this condition? Occasionally, this works.

Similar thing on many XFs which have much the same rear suspension geometry.
Called / known as "tyre skip".
Essentially the rear suspension is fighting against the rear tyres when doing low speed hard turns, causing the tyres to drag and skip.
This may or may not explain your problem.

This is quite possible, especially since that model has a real limited slip differential.

Interesting. I can feel one of my rear wheels slip a bit on slow hard turns, when starting from a stop, under moderate acceleration. But I expect that occasionally.

Default Diff probably

Went to the dealer, sat in with their lead tech. Slow speed (walking) car straight, no noise. Turn steering 1/4 left or right grinding noise from the rear. Tech's face sank a little. Allow car to self straighten, grinding noise stops. Turn 3/4 left or right, very loud grinding noise from the rear that quietens as the car self -straightens to nothing. Techs face looking very worried and suggested we park up, and he would arrange me a lift home as car unfit to drive.

Tentative diagnosis is broken diff, the noise getting louder against the relative speed of the rear wheels from a shallow to tighter turn.

Full report tomorrow and plan of action.

It sounds like one or more of the spider gears are trashed. If mine was out of warranty, I would just weld them all together making certain I got no weld splatter on the pinion or ring gear: full locker, track ready. I did that to all my race cars and got at least one other car back on the street that way.

Diff is broken, they've ordered the replacement parts, but warranty tech having to come down and confirm as apparently lots of £! Should be fixed next week.
