Default Rear brake upgrades?

Hey guys I've been shopping around for big brake kits for my F Type R because I hate the tiny rear calipers but holy moly are brake kits expensive. If I want to stay around the same size rotor 380mm for front and back I'm looking at $6k+... I actually think the front rotors look okay from factory, is it at all possible to mount a set of our front calipers and rotors in the rear? Has anyone tried this? Or does anyone know of a much cheaper solution? lol

Zero chance the 380 mm front calipers will mount on the rear, the hubs and knuckles are all wrong.
But the 376 mm rear brakes (rotors only 4 mm less diameter) are a bolt on upgrade to the standard 326 mm rears (standard on the V6 that is), I DIY did this upgrade a few years ago. A helluva lot cheaper than an after-market BBK.
You will need the 376 mm rotors/discs, calipers, caliper brackets, pads and splash shields.
New rotors are not cheap but a fair bit less than new 380 mm rotors, new or nothing for rotors forget about used. New pads are reasonably cheap.
New calipers and brackets will be expensive but you don't need new, good used will be OK (with maybe a refurb kit) at a fraction of the new price, plenty on Fleabay.
New splash shields for sure but they are fairly cheap.
All up I guestimate around $1,000 - $2,000 US.

Edit - ignore the above waffle if you have an R with the 376 mm rear brakes already!

I thought the R had 376mm as standard on the rear already?

Maybe he has an R-Dynamic?

Yep, I somehow missed that he said he has an R, and yes the R already has the 376 mm rear brakes as standard with the only option being the CCM brakes.
It seems to me that his problem is the relatively small size of the 376 mm rear calipers which are only a mm or two bigger than the 326 mm rear calipers and way smaller than the front 380 mm calipers.
So it's after-market BBK or Jag CCM brakes or nuffin!

That's what I was afraid of, all aftermarket options are insane and the carbon ceramic sets are even more insane. Wanting $10k plus for used damaged sets. I've currently found an engineering group that will do custom brake sets for unique cars and looking through their site they've already done a set for an F type that was absolutely gorgeous. I've reached out to work with them on pricing. I'll update in here for anyone interested. Here are the pics

Maybe a good idea to also ask them about wheel fitment.
There are only two types of OEM F-Type wheels which fit over the OEM CCM brakes, Storm and Maelstrom (both 20"), and it's maybe the same for these Tronik brakes.
The wheels shown in the pics don't look like OEM F-Type wheels to me.

That's a great point but I also run pretty aggressive wheel spacers so I don't think it'd be an issue

Fair 'nuf.
If you intend to use 17 mm or wider spacers then no problem (although 17 mm is about the limit for the fronts before the tyres start to rub on full lock) but if you intend to use 15 mm spacers then the only OEM F-Type wheels which fit without fouling are the Blades.

Perhaps you could do something simple such as adding a plate to the rears like they did to the XE S fronts (no idea if the F-Type rears are 1 or 2 piston calipers. I added these to my front calipers and it helped a great deal.

Scratch the idea of the engineering company. Finally got a price tag for a kit they've already produced and they want $35,000.... Yeah.... that's just insane. I don't know a single person that would pay that with reputable brands and carbon ceramic kits already available for a fraction of that cost...

Custom high precision machining costs money bud, it's not "insane" it's just not cost-effective for your build. Keep searching

I thought someone had pointed to a Brembo kit with opposed piston calipers. I can't remember where though. I think they were six-piston fronts. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Sliding yoke calipers grate on my aesthetic sensibilities but I stopped looking for replacements when I realized that the stock ones are not nearly as heavy as I feared.
