Default Rear suspension trailing arm surprise

I just changed the brakes on my 2014 V8s and while I was under there took a look at my suspension joints. I was alarmed when I saw the condition of the trailing arm rubber joint covers on my 23000 mile garage kept car. They have pretty much perished away revealing the grease pack in the joints. I’m hoping I can find some replacement aftermarket boots rather than buying whole new trailing arms. Anyone have experience finding replacement boots for these?

Subscribed...can you post a picture of what you saw?

Also, post a link to an online dealers parts list (for clarity).

Link below. I think it is part number 6 or 10 he is speaking of.

Thanks, on the OP's behalf. Lower control arm is #6

A picture of the bad part might still be useful to help other owners identify future issues. But I've never heard of just covers for ball joints being available.

Dimensions of the bushings might reveal available replacements (either rubber or poly) but of course, I'm sure that the LCA (lower Control Arm) would require removal to press them in...

We spray silicone on our rubber bushings when our car is on a hoist for an oil change (the traditional way...on a lift). Keeps that rubber supple!

[QUOTE=crateguy;2412568]

Upon further examination it seems all the rubber covers on the control arms and ball joints are perished and broken. I went to autozone and they carry a generic boot that may work for the control arm and drop links. 1.25” x 1/2” x 1.25 tall that should compress down ok. The lower ball joint is larger and I didn’t see anything that will fit. I have the dimensions of 1.5 inches bottom, 1/2” bolt so I’ll see what I can find on the web.
