When a car manufacturer makes a beautifully executed first model, sometimes the styling changes are a erosion of the original design. Audi S5 case in point. I haven't really liked the styling changes since my 16 model. I think they should focus more on quality improvements in the performance, handling and overall component fit and finish. Just one opinion. The R is getting updated suspension components from the SVR. Something like that may cause be to reconsider buying a newer model, but it would need to be significant and something I couldn't achieve aftermarket. Hopefully they don't erode a beautiful design. The XF for instance and the headlights in the original model that weren't that attractive and was fixed in the 2012 version. Not sure much on the f type needs fixing.

It really is time for a big facelift. The F-type looks great of course, but they are losing new car sales by keeping the same exterior and interior. People will go for 2-3 year old versions and save 40%. It’s time.
This article's author is making **** up. The headlights and tail lights are not different from 2019 on the car in these photos. They clearly just removed small pieces of the wrap to only let some of the lights show. You can see the outline of the rest of the headlights and tail lights under the wrap in the expected shape. The only thing that looks like it will be different is the lateral vents on the front bumper. But they are already running three different front bumpers, so who knows which model this one will be for.
Edit:
Maybe I have to eat my words on the headlights. On closer inspection the hood appears to open right through what would be the current head lamp enclosure.

If you zoom in on the headlights I think they are round original units.
The rears look like where the wrap indents to be the exact same outline of the original clusters.
The designers can be cunning buggers in hiding changes with wraps and chunks of foam etc, but there's no major change here except for the parts that are covered in mesh... Maybe!!!
Keep ruining the Mark I design....
Just like the E type, this will be the desirable car to have now and in the future...mark my words.
I think "hideous" is too extreme, but I agree that the only effects of the MY modifications have been to muddle up the purpose and spirit of the original design. I don't even like the modifications from original on my MY 16.
I compare it to when an inspired song is written. There is a strong, well-delivered message. Not overwrought, not wanting.
Then some well-meaning (or maybe not) idiot comes along and samples/remixes/covers it, at which point shoppers and gym goers of all ages are then beaten over the head with the *******ized version for several months (those poor souls).
Edit: lol at the auto-censor. Nothing wrong with the word (b)astardized!

What changes are you referring to? The basic body style was unchanged from 14-16, unless you're referring to the boy racer sill options.
Those exactly.
I'm going to attempt removing the skirts when I get some time in July. As I understand the most difficult part is removing and re attaching the metal sill plate without damaging it.
For the holes in the rocker panel I figure I'll get it wrapped over and no one will be the wiser.
