Default Seat warmers too warm?

I took the car out yesterday, it was first warm day and I decided to drive it top down... Steering wheel warmer was very handy - stayed pleasantly warm, but seat warmers were overly hot even at 1 bar. I tried 1, 2 and 3 bars, and they all feel like all max setting.

I think I have an issue with a controller, both passenger and driver's seat are overly, intolerably, hot with just 1 bar.

How does it work on your car?

Mine are quite hot as well. There is a difference between 1,2,3 and they are all hot
Personally I like it, it's kind of like a free massage chair...but I can see how it could be disconcerting.

I have the same problem with my XF. Seems to be the way Jag makes them unfortunately.

Present and past BMWs are the same way too. I just put it on one bar and then switch it off when it becomes noticeable. But the fairer sex does like them warmer......

Yep...on both the MINIs and the F-Type, 1 is too hot for me and 3 is just right for the spousal unit.

Between the seat warmer, a pretty decent heating system and even the steering wheel heater it's good enough for me to drive with the top down into the low 50s and if I'm not on the highway high 40s with comfort. The car is pretty good for that temp range. My SLK had the neck heater which was nice but certainly unnecessary weight I know.

Yep, that's the only thing I miss about driving my SLK....(I still have it but don't bother driving it now I have the F-Type!)

it's exact same for me on both cars; however, we gave up the mini several years ago.

I wonder if there is a way to dial it down a bit...

Same here. The SLK sits and sometimes my wife drives it, my son derides it and I just look at it, sigh that I still have it, then speed off in my British rocket sled.

I found the solution to the seat warmers being too hot! I've started to wear clothes when I drive.

It's a pretty big sacrifice, but worth it. :-p

Wouldn't you miss wind on your junk while driving top-down?

The two of you now owe me for at least 2 or 3 therapy sessions!

So. Are you saying that the heaters make it feel like you've wet yourself, or that the chillies in last night's meal are making themselves known to you?

Does this effect help or hinder ones haemorrhoids (if you're unlucky enough to suffer from them).

Finally, what effect do they have on hip joints that are past their Best Before dates (or, as the case may be, synthetic...)
