Default Service required light

Upon start up today I got a service required in 3100 kms

The dealer just did the service at around 30k kms a few months ago just before I bought the 2016 F Type R with 32k kms
I now have 34k kms
Is this an oil /filter change service ?
I thought it was required 16k miles or annually according to the maintenance schedule.

Is this maintenance indicator using some sort of an algorithm like other cars like Honda where the service is dependent on variable things such as how hard you drive, temperature etc.

I wonder if the dealer forgot to reset the service indicator when they did the service? There is a user procedure to reset it, if you know you really aren't due a service soon.

Common annoyance when the dealer forgets to reset the maintenance indicator.
To reset:

1) Set ignition on
2) Open hood
3) Open driver's door
4) Fully depress both accelerator and brake pedals for a few seconds
5) Turn off ignition

If the message still appears, try again.

My notes say 10 seconds. Always worked first time for me.

Ok I will give it a try.
So there isn't a random algorithm like Honda has that varies the length of time or mileage before a service is required.

Thank you for your help.
Just a newbie with my new Jag but loving the car.
Never had so many people stop to look at this beautiful machine.

My dealer told me to hold them both depressed for 30 seconds!

It's both time and mileage based - I don't believe there is a more complex algorithm. But it wouldn't compress it that much so your reset was likely just missed

Here’s the procedure, as others have described. It says a message pops up, but I don’t think I’ve seen that.
