Should I get an oil change for my car?
Hi guys.
i got my 2017 F Type R coupe back in August 2016. The car has about 1200 miles on the clock. It's been in winter storage since November 2016. I plan to take the car out from its hibernation by the end of this month. So my question is, should i get the oil changed based on what I've described to you about the car.
Thanks for your input.

If your car was purchased by dealer and warranty started prior to your purchase then in order to get in warranty service you have to change oil after a year of the in service date. I think you have 1 month or 1000 mile variable from that date. As you purchased your 17 in 16 not likely your case, but in any case oil change required if the one year or mileage limit is reached. Just went through this discussion on mine. In any case, if car was new Unhinged's advice is sound. Depending on how much you drive you may be close to the 1 year mark after break in. Check your in service date.
Unfortunately, Jaguar measures the "one year" oil change from date of purchase, not from date of manufacture (when the oil was actually added to the engine). Something to be aware of when purchasing one of the lot.
Unfortunately - it delays the date that Jaguar will provide the first "free" oil change under the maintenance plan. 1 year from date of purchase instead of 1 year of the actual age of the oil.
Which means that if you follow JLR's recommendation you will be fine warranty wise and not cause any harm to the engine.
But no matter what any of us Internet schmucks say, do what you think is best.
The oil sitting in a brand new engine is essentially also brand new and uncontaminated. There's no one year calendar limit on oil in this condition any different than oil sitting on the shelf.
